Come on, there's still two months left of this years BBQ season, then a short closed season before the 2014 one starts (and remember I too am in the Northern part of the Northern hemisphere) There's nothing quite like firing up the BBQ when there is a foot of snow on the ground and the temperature is below zero :-)

Try it below 0F.

Shorts and anything else are optional at my house; they are left to your own discretion in terms of singing your naughty bits.

I'm not in a hurry to go home and start handing out candy. I can hear the rain going down the drain pipe, and I'm listening to the campus supervisors handling the buses. They say there's an accident down the street, with fire engine in attendance, so traffic is terrible.

OK, we'll pass on the grilled sausages then, what else ya got?

I have a large container of Italian beef, but it's still half frozen. Also, it doesn't grill well; it needs to be heated very low and slow, not over 180F or the beef will shrivel up.

I also have some frozen Italian meatballs, and some frozen chicken breasts. Those might work a bit better.

Back to the weather, they say next week's Tuesday and Wednesday might be a lot like this week's Wednesday and Thursday: warm and wet (if you know what I mean).

Sunny but chilly here outside London....
You have a cold front and a trough of low pressure running over you, Julie,
but weather should improve come tomorrow and later on in the week.

Forecast this morning said 58 today, 60 tomorrow with rain coming in the evening, and 59 Wednesday with the rain continuing, a real soaker. Then it drops to a high of 48 Thursday.

Right now, my signature says 55.

They were a big vague about what time the rain will start, but I brought my umbrella to work, just in case. I also have a hat to protect my glasses if it's raining but not hard enough to bother with the umbrella.

It's 49°F/9°C right now and quite dark for the moment. Winds are 6 mph from the NE.

Must be nice to have that light wind, it has been steady around 20 MPH all night for me.

Why fireworks?

The rain isn't here yet, but it's coming.
