Thanks for clearing that up.

Suzie, I don't remember ever seeing them here in Central Valley California. What state do you hail from?

I'm in central Texas.

I'm from Los Angeles California, though My Mom was from Rockwall, Texas.

I'm not "from" Texas. I'm from California. I only reside in Texas!

I only see the green ones here.
Looking forward to Ang's spider pic. I wondering if it an Orb weaver. I just love them.

Her web is rather orb-like, and her name is Orbetta, but I think she is just a yellow garden spider. She's good sized though. She seems to hide in my plants during the day and hang in her web at night. I'll try to snap a shot of her this evening. She is a real beauty.

One last post before I hit the hay...

Meet Orbetta.

Orbetta's sister, Henrietta, was busy dining upon a moth this evening, but Orbetta had not been so lucky, at least at the time this picture was taken. Those things stuck in her web are leaves. She is not the tidiest of housekeepers...

This picture is a little out of focus because Eric's smartypants camera was having a tough time trying to figure out what the target of this picture was. To my human brain the subject was obvious. $*(*&^%$#@#$%^ machines!!!

Try to find a button on the lens tube that is labelled "AF"
It should have an 'on and off' setting, then just focus
your self.
Unless it is the kind of camera that you can talk too.

I saw this royalty-free photo and decided to share.
It's cute, in spite of the fact that it's a spider, imho.

Thank you for sharing Suzie.
I still think Orbetta is an Orb weaver. She has the markings.

Good thing my mother doesn't read these forums, she wouldn't sleep for two days after seeing that.
