It's been chucking it down all day, and is continuing to do so even now.

Clear and calm w/a dose of Forest Fire in the mountains near Wrightwood CA...

Pray for rain, these people could use the help since the terrain is steep...

True - we've already had our two "big ones" here.

Wasn't as warm yesterday as I expected. Turned off the AC when I got home last night. Looking for upper 80s by Tuesday, maybe 90 Wednesday. Only rain in sight is Thursday, maybe.

Sunday and Monday this area has a 20% chance of thunderstorms, boom, boom...

Similar forecast for the southern San Joaquin Valley.
90-105F, depending on location and cloud cover.
25-50% chance of rain, mostly over the Sierras, but some on the Valley floor.

Closer to 100% just south of Flagstaff this weekend.

But we only went up to about 85F.

Dazzlingly bright sunny day here. 88F, predicted 100F
last night's storm has passed. Lightning started about 9:30 pm, coming up from the south/southeast. Sat on my front porch and watched until almost 1:00 am. Rain started about 12:30 am, light but staedy. Could taste the dust being washed out of the air.

I saw some lightning flashes in a cloud off to the west this morning, it's:

Outside:
78°F/26°C
Cloudy
Humidity: 54%

Inside:
78°F/26°C
Cool
Humidity: 78%

I saw a lot of those last night, I was also without cable or internet until this morning.

Shame I'm too far away to have joined you - there's nothing like a good storm when you are sitting comfortably in the dry watching it.

Iowa, Illinois, Indiana headed toward a drought again. Since July 1, we've only had about half the normal amount of rain. Chance of getting a bit on Thursday, but not much.

At least the grass doesn't grow as fast this way.

Yeah, how true, hopefully you get some rain, where I live just got clouds, Elephant Mountain though got drenched...

The Illinois EPA has declared an Air Pollution Action Day from midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow night.

Thundercloud over head, 2 or 3 brownouts happened, only knocked TV and cable out for a bit, lightning is still going on, dense rain shower happened near mountain.

That's sort of how tonight went. Thunder & lightning then heavy rain for about 10 minutes about 5:30 pm, then a new batch of clouds and brownouts about 6:30, full outage at 7:00. Lightning hit a major SCE substation, see my TLPTPW post. More of the same for tomorrow, but only going to 97F (we'll see).

Edit] Hearing thunder again......
