Julie is perfectly correct. Ladies use Parasols, Gentlemen use umbrellas. Real Gentlemen like Sir Walter Raleigh also throw their cloaks over puddles as well.

Parasols are a bit big aren't they? My neighbour has one that covers half the garden.

Anything above spf15 isn't certified over here, may as well be snake oil and none of it is water proof, much less resistant...

In the couple of hours since the rain stopped and the sun came out, it's gone up 12 degrees. 82F isn't bad, unless the dewpoint is a disgusting 72F.

I'm really not sure which is worse.

It's now 103F/39C and 32F/0C, your area is I'd think, I've gone out in temps as high as 108F, you don't feel the temp really until you get into a cool place, like a super market or someones home, then you see the sweat come pouring like niagara falls almost. Although metal or plastic or other such surfaces do get uncomfortable to the touch, mad dogs and Englishman, I'm part English, maybe I'm mad too? Woof!

I'm a quarter English and a quarter German. That probably covers the mad dog part too.

It's 105°F/41°C Clear Humidity: 7% outside.

My Sister in law, the RN is half German and half Polish, She's also My friend.

My other quarters are Polish and Ukrainian.

Currently 78, dewpoint 75. There are storms going past about 20 miles north of me and out across the lake. Not as big as the ones here this morning.

We only have a small portable A/C unit.
The thing works well in our little
house.

Living in NM and AZ the swamp cooler ran most of the summer, it would drop the temp by 22F. In AZ when it got really hot then the AC went on, electric would jump to about $185.

One summer it hit 122F and my ac went out in my car and I had to drive 35 miles home. Let me tell you I drank about a gallon of ice tea when I got home. :))

I never use my A/C, it uses up too much energy and it's not really a necessity here...
