Oooof. One more day of working through this heat and humidity. 85f and just sticky as can be. Makes for a very long workweek. Wears you down after a while. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Chicago on Thursday hit 90F for the first and only time this month. Currently 80. I'll probably turn off the AC tonight or in the morning. Supposed to be in the 70s and dry for the next several days. We only have a small portable A/C unit. The thing works well in our little house. |

Very strange weather here today.....cool and still muggy. The wind is coming from the northeast and swirling about....not very common for this neck of the woods. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

The local BBC radio was quoting views on a heat ways across the pond, with temperatures likely to hit 53C (127F). Anyone heard different? It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues ![]() ![]() |

69 out at bedtime. Turn off the air or not. Not. The house generates enough heat that it'll still be warm in here, plus there's no breeze to push air through the windows. Can't sleep. 2am, step outside to see how it is. Not bad, but still humid (late afternoon rain). Hear the big click the compressor makes when it starts... but it doesn't start. Poke head inside; fan is running. Oh s&!t. Go in, turn it off, open a couple windows and turn on a fan to bring the cool in. Supposed to be nice the next few days, but I better get it checked before the long holiday weekend.
