An electrolyte is any substance that forms an ionic solution in a polar solvent. Table salt is a good example, sodium chloride (NaCl) which upon dissolution forms sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl-) ions. All beer is full of electrolytes, as is the water used to make it. That's like advertising milk as containing lactose and calcium. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |
