This is the Official party Line Lib Dem EU Policy

It contradicts this......

Liberal Democrat Federal Constitution

"We believe that sovereignty rests with the people and that authority in a democracy derives from the people. We therefore acknowledge their right to determine the form of government best suited to their needs and commit ourselves to the promotion of a democratic federal framework within which as much power as feasible is exercised by the nations and regions of the United Kingdom. We similarly commit ourselves to the promotion of a flourishing system of democratic local government in which decisions are taken and services delivered at the most local level which is viable."

That statement is totally against the EU as the EU wants a Federal centralised power base

No EU there, so why the Pro Europe stance?

Typical turnabout party, only go for what benefits them rather than the country!

Will have to commit themselves to a renegotiation of terms with Brussels
whereby the Federal centralised power base does not include the UK...
...I'm sure Brussels will be only to happy to agree to that??

Nein, nein. As Maastricht and Lisbon treaties showed, Brussels will keep on at all until they get a Ya, Ya vote.

Yes, I read this part too, yesterday. To be patriotic to Europe can only be
maintained if you support the thesis of a United States of Europe. I feel Clegg
has shown his true feelings here and that he IS a pro-pro Europhile, something
that I suspect Chris would not be too happy about....and who would blame him.

Naw, he'll just continue to castigate it as a late night post. He can't see the trees for the wood in his eyes.

Well one could always say that Cleggs words were taken out of context, isn't
that the normal No.1 quote said after someone gooooooofs.

Be a bit hard to do as someone already stated this....

I say again, no!

One Lib Dem has said that a US of Europe would be a good idea, that does not translate into 'The Lib Dems will campaign for a USE'.

This is why i hate the Daily Mail!

Well, let's see...

Duff
Clegg
Alexander

How many is that? Their position within the party? Backbenchers are they?

Now if this does not set the EU ablaze, don't know what will.....

Don't lift curbs, Tories tell Del-boy

"Dozens of Tory MPs are likely to back the measure and put huge pressure on the Prime Minister to defy the European Union over its cherished free movement rules."

He hasn't got the courage!

He's most probably put them up to it in the first place, There all running
scared of UKIP. Lets get a vote raised in the house in favour of stopping any
more Roms from coming in. But, do make it look like the idea was home grown from
within Westminster rather from outside via UKIP.....going to watch this one
closely, vote the wrong way me-boys and some of you ain't going to have a seat
in Westminster after the next general election cos' the electorate will see to
that.

Still going on about the USA spying on Germany....

What I wont to know is why did the Yanks feel it necessary to eavesdrop on
"Angela Dorothea Merkel"!!..I suspect that the Americans wont to know something,
and I for one would like to know what that is. I do have some idea on what it
could be but I would be rather silly in stating publicly what I think it is.

Is that a fact?

Explain this then....

Cable's 'ditch euro" causes fury within the party

Seems to me that there is more than one like Duff within the Lib-Dem perverted party.

Do you not have an article more recent than five years ago?

I'm always ready for the daily mail :)

Yep, definitely needs Ed to show him some

"I made a light-hearted remark. If it caused any offence, then I will happily withdraw it. I think it is very important that we can have a little bit of light-hearted banter and a sense of humour on all sides."

So his referendum idea is the best humour this decade :)

How can something be withdrawn after stating it? It's not like cash you can put back in the bank, it is always there for all to see. Stupid muppet!

Seems like the coalition won't exist in 2015. Not only is he peeing off his deputy but his friends in the EU.

Cut the green cr*p urges Del-boy

"Rather than cost people money to be more environmentally aware the government should take the priority and do everything in its power to provide people with clean energy. Germany powers great big areas with renewable energy, how come they have the brains and we don't? Or rather, would that take away too much money for those pesky (and powerful) energy companies, who can charge us whatever they want and laugh as they get away with it."

but the best comment of all is.......

..."Green "c**p" is one of the few accurate statements made by Cameron."

There's gonna be a hell of a lot of very unhappy Ukrainian politicians over
there now. One moment licking their lips at those juicy Brussels bribery jobs
at £125,000 per year that now wont be coming their way. These positions would
have been set up and given to those influential Ukrainian politicians who
could been relied upon to actively promote the joining of the EU. Well one good
thing for those Ukrainians, they wont have to face being bombarded by a whole
host of lies regarding the benefits of joining the EU.

"For example, the euro-zone bailouts of countries such as Greece were in blatant defiance of Article 125 of the EU Treaty (which makes it illegal for one member to assume the debts of another).

Yet, as soon as it became clear that the euro wouldn’t survive without cash transfusions, the law was set aside."

An excellent article

Nick, you have to realise, that although the "Cold War" is officially over, Russia still has enormous day to day influence over the Eastern European and Baltic states. This is always allowed for in various International negotiations.

What made you think I don't already appreciate this regarding Russia and the
Ukraine. I feel sorry for the Ukrainians, all them new office blocks they
were hoping to build, only to remain empty and at cost to the EU, will now not
get built.
