Guys, physics is physics, no matter where the engine is built. See my link over in the Cafe. Inlet ice accretion has been going on for years, including RR engines. |

Using older versions of Windows, it was quite easy to print off directory/folder listings and if they did not work, used an old dos command. These do not work under Window 7. However found a solution from Microsoft themselves. How to add Print Directory to Windows Explorer |

Tch, tch, tch, whatever next? US Gov agrees $50 million in piracy case "In recent years, the US government has stepped up efforts to combat piracy, announcing a wide-ranging strategy for clamping down in 2010. "Piracy is theft, clean and simple," remarked vice-president Joe Biden at the time." |

I have mixed feelings on that. Yes sometimes a post mortem has to be done. But for the most part I feel its not needed. When my second wife was in a car accident,She had a massive skull fracture. She had 7 anoirisms (sp). She was brain dead basicly when she arrived at the hospital. Only her body didnt realize it yet. After 13 days she died. The doctor wanted to do a post mortem. I said no, The big reason why was in discussions with her she made it known she did not want to be cut up after she was dead. I respected that. Now if they had something like Sirius posted, I could have agreed to that. Im all for medical science to advance, But I would need a valid reason for a post mortem to be done. [/quote] Old James |

Microsoft's new O/S? "Microsoft Bra 3.1 has encountered an error, and will be removed." Last month saw the release of a Twitter-connected bra, that tweeted every time it was unhooked to encourage women to self-examine their breasts.Or for over-protective parents to monitor their teenage daughter. Meanwhile in response to a series of rapes in India, three engineering students developed a bra loaded with sensors and an electronic circuit that is activated when someone attempts to grope a woman wearing it.And does what? Surely the wearer is already going to notice someone groping them. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

Maybe it should come with an external flashing red light as a general warning to all concerned when the wearer is approaching critical stress levels..... T.A. |

Driverless cars "using sensors to avoid collisions." Hmmn, be nice if the smart bra had them, especially when one is out shopping :) |

Hmmn, this comes to mind...... The money saved from which i have no doubt will be passed on to the motorist! (I wish!) Yep, computers sure are the "perfect" answer to a country's problems! For such an important role in air safety, one would think that someone with a modicum of sense would have switched to a backup immediately.... ...oh wait, do they have a backup? |

Good point, however it's a computerised communications system. IF backups are in place, someone still should have instantly switched over. Instead there is the loss of revenue as well as countless delays. in the 21st century, is that really acceptable? "It said the glitch meant it had not been possible to reconfigure the voice communications system to split out the sectors for the daytime traffic in some areas of the UK airspace." |

Systems A & B. For Air Traffic Control it makes sense. Edit: With system C being the backup should A get corrupted and B fails to boot. |
