I am receiving the above message, but I have 9GB reserved for BOINC. It reads 9GB at both the S@H and E@H websites as well as in the local prefs. I'm not sure where to begin to fix this. I was crunching along just fine, but now, neither project has any work units left and I'm idle. I'm running Opensuse 12.1 with the standard packages for BOINC. |

Use either the web-preferences, or the local preferences. Then you know which ones to update. The local preferences override the web-preferences. The disk and memory usage preferences aren't just about the amount of disk space you've got free, they're all of these: Disk: use at most 15 GB Disk: leave free at least 0.10 GB Disk: use at most 100% of total (values are mine). You say you have 9GB reserved for BOINC, but you don't say how big the drive is, how much on it is free and whether there's even enough space to have that 9GB reserved. You don't need 9GB either, not for Seti, Einstein and Cosmology, as these three projects together won't use 9GB, not even when you set 10+10 days. |

Aha, your post at Einstein shows the problem: No disk space available: disk_max_used_gb 0.00GB disk_max_used_pct 75.00 disk_min_free_gb 0.00GB So someplace you've set "Disk: use at most 0 GB". Most probably in the local preferences. Clear them or when you don't use the GUI, exit BOINC, delete global_prefs_override.xml and restart BOINC. |

Used by BOINC 762.49MB Free available to BOINC 8.26GB Free not available to BOINC 61.58GB Used by other programs 8.16GB I set it to 9GB to make sure that space wasn't an issue. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was set to 2GB before this issue arose. All prefs, web and local, are set to 9GB... |

They are set the same everywhere that I can think of. I deleted the file and I still get the same error. :( Aha, your post at Einstein shows the problem: |

I just read Ageless's second post again, and there the server says: host.d_boinc_used_total 29.90GB With your setting of max 9 GB used that gives the mentioned -20.90 GB: No disk space available: x1 -20.90GB x2 29.16GB x3 69.76GB x -20.90GB So, try a value of, say, 31 GB to receive tasks again. @John. Can you please post the contents of the global_prefs.xml file and if it exists, the contents of global_prefs.override.xml ? (Although I told you to remove this latter and you said you did so...) |

(Although I told you to remove this latter and you said you did so...) Yes, but he set "Leave at Least" to 0.01, because it "won't accept 0.001" ;-) Gruß, Gundolf |

What is the size of your BOINC Data directory? Check for big junk files in it. I made an experiment, I put 1.35 GB movie file in: ...\BOINC\projects\orbit.psi.edu_oah\ The results: BOINC Manager - Disk Usage - 1 - Normal.png BOINC Manager - Disk Usage - 2 - Fake.png (The "junk" file have to be in the directory of some of the projects, if put in BOINC program or directly in BOINC Data directory it have no effect) Â - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :) Â |
