Kitties? the only kitties I have in my house are the ones that sit on the computers and suck the heat out though the top of the case, or maybe they hold it in.
Now if I could only teach them how to use a calculator to do fast furrier transform they would be useful for other things than eating and sleeping and holding the computers down LOL
Gimme BEER and WU's!!!!

I went to primegrid for the Cuda work , and woke up this morning
with all my SETI CPU wu's errored out.
Is there a known problem running both side by side?
I have suspended all the SETI wu's I have as I can't report anyway,
and I will run them without primegrid when the servers are up
and running to see if that changes the problem.
I will find out what errors I have produced when the servers are back
up and running.

Wow, it was an enormous amount of work available and now downloading here. I have never in my years here experienced such amount of easy to get work. Download speed is well over 500K.

Ooops, it was just a dream......

LOL

everybody are getting ton of works back and my PC always get a 0 tasks none available /cry
cant find the hole :(

Ooops, it was just a nightmare......

HAHA

but, out of joking, when servers will be back , it will certainly be a nightmare

Boxing Day - hey dont push !

Oh yeah, when the servers comes back, there will be hell for them. All finished work must be uploaded, and thousands upon thousands of computers will try to get new work, at the same time.

Prediction: The uptime before next outage will not be long...

It may take a week, or more before everything is stable again.

Optimist!

All my finished work is being uploaded as I finish it - no backlog there. And with the transitioners being off, there should be a nice little backlog of time-expired resends waiting for us. That'll get us off to a gentle start while the splitters ramp up.

Or something like that. My theory, at least.

Ok then: It may take until midsummer eve, before everything is stable again. :-)

At which point something else will break.

All my finished work is uploaded, it just needs to be reported which is one transaction per machine. The scramble for WUs, especially for machines which are out of GPU work, will be something else, however...

Can't you super crunchers just wait for a week or so, in order for us with slower computers to fill our caches first? :-)

Please...pretty please....

Or if they all moved to BOINC 6.12?

Somehow the phrase 'feeding frenzy' springs to mind.

6.12 & 'feeding frenzy'. LOL They don't exactly go together. Although 6.10 and 'feeding frenzy' could qualify...

A little birdy told Me that 2 New Servers are on their way, donated by the GPU Group with Slavac's help, to Slavac and company!

I certainly hope this outage doesn't last until the new servers arrive! The vendor doesn't even have all the parts together yet. (If I understand Brad correctly.)

The current problem really has nothing to do with the servers, if I understand it correctly. It is a database table size problem, which I don't think has anything to do with the server the data is hosted on.

And even if it was, the SETI@home science database is hosted on Oscar, which is one of SETI's newest and most capable servers - with no little thanks to Mark and the kitties in the fundraising stakes, IIRC.

All true, and I didn't mean to imply otherwise.
