Message 1348548 - Posted: 19 Mar 2013, 19:34:22 UTC - in response to Message 1348545.

Thankfully Nick, that sort of excess of drunken behaviour on the Parliamentary Estate, which necessitates the intervention of the police, is pretty rare. But of course, when it does occur, it naturally hits the press, and brings everyone else into disrepute.

It brings them down to the ordinary man in the street level something most
of them would hate to feel they were.

Now awaiting the guy that has the same name as what he talks ...

Christopher, your not trying to be a bit catty here are you?...by the way this
is in no way to be construed that I don't agree with you...on the contrary he
would look quite at home sitting on Cherry Blair's lap as they both lack any
form of character.

Have you seen the Balls claim for the budget support for homes today. Labour claim it will help the rich buy second homes only.

Oh for crying out allowed ...
It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues

OK...."WAIL-WAIL...BOO-HOO"!!!......Second homes, just like they and
the other politicians have been doing so for years upon years at tax payers expense.
The trouble with Labour is that they preach similar rubbish to that which the
Russian Commies used to ever since they had their revolution. Equality in
wealth is one and if Labour had their way this would result in all the
population being poor with the Westminster Politburo members running around
with vast amounts of the states wealth hanging out from their back pockets.

18th September 2014....How snotty will Scotty Salmon be if they vote no to
independence. Back several years ago Scotland's population stood at eight
million. During Salmon's speech yesterday, announcing the date for the referendum,
he stated Scotland's population stood at just over five million..... where's the
other three million disappeared to all of a sudden??? Were they all potential
NO voters so he's had them knocked-off.

They were all hiding behind their copies of the Scottish Mail during the last census :-)

Most probably all slipped across the boarder and are now reading the Daily Mail.

I love it!

Sassenachs Bite Back!

...and what was Labours reply, "Labour says to do that would undermine the Union"
Isn't this exactly what the SNP is asking the Scottish electorate to do?
So by giving England it's own assembly could undermine the Union but not so
by giving Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland theirs though???

Naw, they're just trying to bamboozle us so we won't keep our eyes on the main event....EU & $$$$ Crisis!

Bigger crisis coming within the bond market. America is loaning money out to
it's banks far cheaper than it can borrow it in the market place. If they are
forced to have to turn off the printing presses then local interest rates will have
to rise considerably very-very soon afterwards. Dollars will become scarce
and the value of the currency will rise since most international money markets
still see the dollar as the only safe haven currency.

The time to really start worrying is after the next general election and Labour
get back in. They want to loan more and spend-spend-spend....time to emigrate
then!!!

Perhaps that is the way forward until a viable third party appears. And no it won't be UKIP!

...you sure on that? how about a re-emergence of the SDP.... :)

Jesus, you really are blinkered! The SDP were & still are labourites or to put it into language you cannot fail to understand.....

...Wolves in sheep's clothing!

You'll do anything to get things running & controlled your way & anything or anybody that gets in your way gets castigated/insulted/baited.

Remember this, before you continue "moderating, insulting & baiting" me. It won't work - you have a history on this forum for failing to make this happen so there's no way in hell a leopard changes his spots that quickly & you are too old in the tooth to change in the 1st place.

Step aside & let someone who really wants to attempt to change things for the better - you're way past your sell by date!

My perception from across the pond is that since the middle ages Scotland has done nothing but drool for independance. You have to admit that Britain was not very nice to its nieghbors.

However in my lifetime I havent seen the Queen march an army north to pillage and plunder the landscape of Scotland.

Correct me if Im wrong but isnt Scotland like Canada? Self governing but still a part of the UK?

They have had the dream for centuaries, And dreams do die hard I guess.

Canada is a federal state governed as a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It remains part of the British Commonweatlh. It was granted nominal independence (Dominion status) in 1867. It removed the remaining ties to the British Parliament in 1982.

Scotland has partial self-government within the United Kingdom as well as representation in the UK Parliament. Executive and legislative powers have been devolved to, respectively, the Scottish Government and the Scottish Parliament at Holyrood in Edinburgh. The Scottish Parliament has legislative authority for all other areas relating to Scotland, as well as limited power to vary income tax.

Thanks Chris. So what would happen if Scotland went the same was as Canada? They would have to have their own currency and such?
