Heh. I know this is not any news with slow downloads. It is vary rare that I get an AP task. I get a few though.... But today 10% of a task downloaded in 1 hour. I have a 10Mbit connection capable of 600-1000kb a sec I am located in sweden which I guess is far away from the servers. Today I get amazing top speed of 3kb a sec for a few minutes and then the transfers stops. And the Backoff time is betwwen 1-10hours. With this process and speed it would be almost impossible to download tasks. My thinking is: Is there any way that you can have a "sister" server located somewhere in Europe that can balance the Primary servers whick line seems very crowded? TRuEQ & TuVaLu |

Heh. Now it is 15kb withe the very same task as a few hours ago... It is soon complete. I've thought about downgrading again for the 3'rd time. But I am intrested in 2 more projects that are starting OpenCl on GPU and they require BOINC 7.x.x which has OpenCl support. I might upgrade again and try OpenCl on Albert@Home and POEM@HOME when they release their windows version. I tried 6.13.12 which is now replaced by 7.x.x and that did work with my ATI card. But it hasn't implemented requesting new tasks when running multiple projects... They still have some work to do on the 7.x.x i guess. YES!!! Now I got 2 more ap's dl at 15-20kb each.... And they are all mine *grin* TRuEQ & TuVaLu |

What is the best way to install the 6.10 and get rid of the 6.12? Will I have to re install the optimized version of BOINC again too? Thanks. |

Just install boinc and seti based all stays as it was before. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Just uninstall Boinc 6.12.x then install Boinc 6.10.x, (If you install Boinc 6.10.x over a 6.12.x installation, you have to run the earlier installer a 2nd time in repair mode) You don't need to do anything to the optimised apps. Thank you Mike and Claggy. That went smoothly. Now I just have to wait for the ap pipes to open again. Like everyone else. |

I have only 2 AP WUs buried in the caches among my 8 rigs... That, and 690 invalids generated when one rig went off into the woods and tore through it's entire GPU cache...LOL. Sorted now. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

And now there are tons of AP's available, but I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a human being to get any of these AP's. APs on the barbi again, eh? No wonder the bandwidth is stuffed again and I can't download my MB WUs to save my..... Meeeeeowol. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Even a camel can get through a needle if it is well lubricated (from Internet). Tullio |
