I had noticed that earlier too.....
Pendings were building up and then dropped in a batch about an hour or so ago.
Now they appear to be rising again.

Hmmmmm...and I don't see any MB validators on the status page??

MB waiting for validation dropped from about 15,000 to about 4,200 between the 19:20 and 19:40 status page updates.
