Okay, fresh start for this thread. Then I still have to report the uploading issue ;-) And well, not getting new tasks - but that's probably connected anyway. Weird enough, scheduler updates do work (accepting tasks ready to report). |

I'm seeing the same thing. I see a normal completion message for a scheduler request but uploads are failing to connect. No downloads in my queue but that's probably because the scheduler isn't giving me anything. Fortunately things started working pretty normally for about a day before the Tuesday outage so I have reasonable queue of tasks to crunch. |

It's working now... should have been in bed, then I probably wouldn't have had even recognized the hick-up. |

Yes, seems to be better now but still seeing some uploads hang for a bit at 100%. Also having sporadic problems even loading webpages at S@H. Maybe they're having network issues at Berkeley this evening. |

Upload server is being shown as disabled, but I've been able to upload in the past few minutes. I know all the statuses and elements on that page are not all from the same moment in time, so it may have come back up between page-generation queries. For the last 4hrs my 3 PC's here have just been bouncing on and off the limiter but hopefully someone can get access to that flakey router soon so that the memory upgrade can be done, then we'll see if the network problems for others disappear. Cheers. |

Anyone know why/how some of my recent AP WUs have been getting validated with the validater off line? Just a little baffled is all, though I am happy with the extra credits! |

Anyone know why/how some of my recent AP WUs have been getting validated with the validater off line? Just a little baffled is all, though I am happy with the extra credits! We get at best 6 snapshots of server status per hour (one every 10 minutes). What happens between those snapshots can be far different than what we see. The rate of growth of the AP "Results returned and awaiting validation" has been less than the AP "Results received in last hour" most of the time, that's another indication that the Validator is running sometimes. Almost without exception, the response to a request for wok is "No tasks sent". One system did get some GPU work, so it is out there. But the other system will probably run out of GPU work before it sees any more. Grant Darwin NT |

'No tasks sent' as opposed to 'no tasks available' means that the tasks held in the feeder queue were deemed unsuitable for the request - most likely VLAR on a NVidia GPU request. On a mixed GPU/CPU request, the tasks would be suitable for the CPU but they don't get checked a second time for the second part of the request. |

'No tasks sent' as opposed to 'no tasks available' means that the tasks held in the feeder queue were deemed unsuitable for the request - most likely VLAR on a NVidia GPU request. Another 'bug'? Does not make sense...I need both kinds of work, if one does not match up, why not send the other instead of wasting the contact and the work request? Another 'bug'? No, that's a feature, I think (works as designed:-). ;-) Gruß, Gundolf |

No uploads, no downloads, no tasks able to report since Oct. 5. Usually I can get through for a while after the weekly outage but not this week. I'm hanging on here but I'm out of work. I hope I can get through before the upcoming deadlines (Oct.18) get me. I read about using proxy servers but I think that it is bit beyond my capabilities. I'm using Mac OS X in several flavors so if anyone could point me to a step-by-step resource, I might try it. Thanks. Plus SETI Classic = 21,082 WUs |

You could try going to your project preferences and untick 'use CPU' - you will only ask for GPU tasks.(Don't forget to enable again when you've got enough) We seem to have lots of VLAR - those won't be scheduled to your NVidia GPU [but current Lunatics x38g and upwards work quite well with VLAR so you could reschedule]. Your current task list shows you got some GPU tasks in the meantime though - it just takes quite long if the splitters produce mainly VLARs |
