Why not give those anonymous platforms a "name"?

I mean, why not revert back to the stock app for a few days, 'till the whole DCF thing sorts itself out? Would that be quicker?

(Just hazarding a guess. Have never used the optimized app)

The anonymous platform is used for any unsupported platform, such as running OS/2 on SETI@Home, and it also allows for optimized applications.

What name would you like to give it?

How is the anonymous platform "Situation NORMAL, All Fouled Up"? Normally the Anonymous platform is perfectly OK.

I use anonymous platform myself, and I'm not really worried about the current issues.

There's an issue that affects anonymous platform? Interesting. Didn't even notice. (not sarcasm)

Have you looked at the estimated completion times for the latest d/loads on your sempron?

Why not name it "Bailout"? Or "TINA"? Or "Troika"?

Why?

In the technical sense, the given name "anonymous" means that the application was not officially written by the project to support hardware the project does not have the time or hardware resources to test code. Calling it "anonymous" makes sense.

Why not just call it "Nerds platform", simple and up to the point. Stock is what most people run, and "Nerds platform" is what those of us that are a bit of SETI nerds are using.

LOL

LOL...that would work too!

ahh...so the problem has to do with CPU crunching only. i was about to say that the estimated completion times for all S@H tasks "ready to start" on my host look as normal as the ever have, but i only crunch S@H on my GPU. i guess that would explain why i haven't noticed any issues with my anonymous platform.
