Gripe: on August 27 a MB result on my Linux box was validated although very different from that of my wingman, also a Linux user.
Kudo: I got 1627.55 credits instead on the usual 116-118

Kudo: I posted a generic problem (not specific to BOINC/SETI) with one of my Macs to this board and to an Apple support board. A resolution to my problem appeared on this board within a few hours; I never received a useful solution on the Apple board. Thanks to all of you who care about this distributed computing community and contribute to it!

Kudos: Astropulse validation works again, at warp speed!

Gripe: They didn't leave it down long enough to make a new best day for credits.

Kudos: They got the new memory in the PAIX Router!!!! People are reporting no more need for proxies!

Gripes: I didn't get in on the fun of having anything to gripe about. My system ran fine during all this.

[Kudos] To the guys for getting the router upgraded & for kicking ap_validate3 so it is working again.
[Gripes] I have been posting over 100k credits the past several days. It is creeping me out.

There was a(turns out slight) limit increase for me on about the 19th.
I was capped around 1400 tasks, now capped around 1500 tasks on Badger(faster machine)

Are you sure that's not 1,400 real tasks (known to your client), plus 100 ghosts, making 1,500 tasks known to the server? As I verfied by observation 10 days ago,

... ghosts don't count towards the 'tasks in progress' quota limit.

That was tripping me up a while ago as well. I thought the limit on one of my machines was 302. I just had 102 ghost tasks.

Andy, you like the rest of us are just fundamentally loyal to the original Boinc project. Yes it drives as potty at times, yes we feel like giving up on occasions, yes we tear our hair out, but the simple fact remains.

This is home.

It is Kinda Like Family , You may go away for a while , But , Gotta come back Home !

Yes gentlemen, it is Home.

What are the limits now?
I have 76 tasks for my 2 core machine. I get one new task each time I upload and report one.

AFAIK, the limits are still 50 per CPU core, and 400 per GPU. AP appears not to count toward these limits.

Boinccmd.exe will give you the count of tasks on your machine form a command prompt. Then you will be able to determine the number of ghost tasks you have.

From a command prompt enter. boinccmd --get_tasks

You will see information for each task fly by the screen but you are only interested in the last item. On the machine I am on right now it shows.

Where 153 is the total count of tasks on this machine. Which oddly enough matches the server right now. So no ghosties for me on this machine.

If you are using a windows machine you could enter this command to save the output to a text file.
boinccmd --get_tasks > %USERPROFILE%\desktop\tasks.txt
Where it will be placed on the current users desktop.

Thanks. I get 99 tasks, which agrees with the server. I guess I picked some up over night.
