Hey, guys and gals, look what I found! Woohoo! I'll drink to that. *checks fridge* Oh dear oh dear, looks like with all the good weather we've had I've drunk it all :( Member of the People Encouraging Niceness In Society club. |

It's good this thread is back in business. I'll have a Westmalle now (a Belgian beer of top fermentation, couldn't upload a picture though, pity) I do like a good Belgian beer. Had a bottle of Chimay Ale over the weekend. A real treat. |

I dunno why either Mark, you can get domestic brews that are upwards of 10% and in some cases more... I love me a good IPA, I assume that's the kind of strength that Carlsburg should have been. ;-) #resist |

If the bubbles in your stout are falling then the answer why, might be answered in Falling stout bubbles explained |

And all this time I thought it was because I was standing on my head. BTW, who pays scientists to do this stuff? |

If the bubbles in your stout are falling then the answer why, might be answered in Falling stout bubbles explained They only appear to be "falling" because they are being pushed down along the outside edge of the glass because of the big upwards push coming from the majority of the bubbles in the center of the glass... Is what I was taught. More trivia: If you pour a stout into a glass that has tapers CLOSED towards the top ( like an "A" ), then the stout bubbles will NOT go downwards at the edge, they instead go UP. (I assume the bubbles in the middle fall in this example) EDIT} the link already covered that. :-( sorry. LOL (all this beer talk is making me thirsty, and I've got 3 more days before it's beer night.. :-)) #resist |

My fav (if I drink, which I might not because I've not had a drop of suds in 3 years) my favorite is Killians Irish Red and Guinness and the other one made by Guinness which I can't remember the name of but I would know if I heard it. Harp lager, isn't it? (Appropriate name for an Irish beer, no?) Since I'm having trouble getting to sleep right now, I think I'll stagger over to Rocky's and see if I can get a plate of scrambled eggs, grilled Spam, poatoes, and a pint of Harp to wash it down. No beer here for me in hospital:( You should have let me know as I just had a few beers for a mate of mine who's in hospital here and I could've stayed for another hour and had 2 or 3 for you too if I had known. ;) But its far too late for that now. :D [EDIT} I found out the hard way that those places are not very enjoyable. [/EDIT] Cheers. |
