When many, many crunchers found that a rescheduler was needed, one was developed. Then another. More and more work was being rescheduled from the GPU's to the CPU's and was common knowledge. I meant it differently.. O.K., but yours started also with only one person, no? ;-) - Best regards! - Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. - Optimize your PC for higher RAC. - SETI@home needs your help. - ![]() |

I couldn't agree more. I tried crunching another project once. Just wasn't my thing. In the end it's all artificial inflation and as long as everyone is receiving credits on the same scale so we can judge the better parts and configurations it doesn't even matter. At the end of the day I'll eat my soylent green and drink my slurm and be happy. (love that show) Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

Still rolling...... To now I don't know one who understand 'CreditNew'. I don't complain. I write only this what all think.. ;-) I don't understand at all, why same ARs have a so big vary in granted Cr. In past we knew, AR x = x Cr. Now e.g. (I saw) for AR 0.44x = ~ 40 to ~ 200 Cr. [EDIT: Ahh yes.. I saw also AP results with ~ 400 to ~ 2,500 Cr.] - Best regards! - Sutaru Tsureku, team seti.international founder. - Optimize your PC for higher RAC. - SETI@home needs your help. - ![]() |

From my limited understanding and from what I've seen it bases the credit on the fastest partner in the group then it normalizes the credit given based off past credits granted for the same amount of time. However this is an extremely rudimentary understanding. So in essence over time with more results given we should know within pretty close approximation how many credits we will receive based off time taken to process. Granted everyone's machine always change as well as partners, but I believe it will tighten up over the course of time. Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

Aw hell, when it really comes down to it, if they granted 1 credit per WU completed, we'd still be able to compare what work has been done by one cruncher VS another, wouldn't we now? I'd be OK with that. It's just an arbitrary number. 1 cred per WU. 1,000,000 creds per WU. 1 cred per flop. Don't matter. As long as I can get a read on what I do here compared to other participants, it's all good. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Sutaru -"I write only this what all think.. ;-)" No, I don't think that at all. As a matter of fact, as far as I'm concerned, "They" could stop issuing credits altogether. That would fix some problems. |

Noooooooo, they can't stop the credits, I haven't got my toaster yet!!!! Damn, but you're rather liberal. I'll only wait around for the next 5 years or more. Each day until 3. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." ![]() |

Noooooooo, they can't stop the credits, I haven't got my toaster yet!!!! According to some of your power bills you have talked about here I'm thinking you should be trading in those 'green stamps' for carbon credits. ;) Traveling through space at ~67,000mph! |

my feet feel toasty warm because of this computers heat output. i sometimes use the power supply fan outlet as a food warmer. just got back into seti and waiting for my rac to climb and building new rigs is fun. ive been away for a year or 2 |

Wingmen, and wing women are as fast, or slow, as their random distribution of performance. Given that there are far more slow crunchers around than fast ones the chances of getting a slow one are quite high. Just sit tight, wait, everything will get validated, you've done your part by getting the results back inside the schedule, so its someone eles's job now. new behavior for SETI@home Enhanced? got -0.06 Credits for 4,539.72 CPU Time (yes, there is a minus before the Credit) http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=785199775 My Wingman uses SETI@home Enhanced v6.10 (cuda_fermi) and has lot of these results Astropulse v505 has normal Credits Matthias |

Even though your wing man is showing as anonymous, my guess is he's a beta tester since he is showing as running version 6.13.0 which is a new version not released to the public yet. Probably a problem with how it scores that I'm sure they are fixing. ![]() PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

new behavior for SETI@home Enhanced? That machine has 1 task from the 14th that was given about 100 credits while they were using 6.13.0. After that they are all negative credit. At least they are only very small negative with "-0.26" the largest value I found. Perhaps this has shown an issue with the credit new system.
