You'd think that people around here would be use to the difficultly reaching the servers after an outage. :-o

It will settle down once about 250K computers stop hitting them up. ;)

Cheers.

I am used to the Tuesday outage.

I am not used to seeing it on Monday, Tuesday and now Wednesday still......

Now if you read the Latest Thread in the Technical News section you would know that there is a shortage of work to be split which is why not much work being sent out and if you'd check the Cricket Graphs out that will show activity on the link to SETI (blue line uploads and green downloads) though atm it looks like we're having a slight hiccup but my cache I'm good for a few days yet before I need to hit up my backup projects. ;)

Cheers.

Something is amiss. Server status hasn't been updated in over half an hour. Can't up or download. Oh well. Guess the other projects will get some work done.

Server status just fixed itself. Also appears as if up/downloads are working again.
Dan

Edit: I may have spoken too soon on the up/downloads. Oh well.

Looks like things are still fluid. At 22:02 PDT Wednesday / 05:02 UTC Thursday I got 1 Result to Upload on the first try, but after almost 30 minutes I can't get through to the Scheduler to Report it. I'll give it one more try, if it doesn't go through, It'll wait for morning.

Edit: Cricket graphs just spiked up and then crashed to the baseline, but I got my Task reported.

CPU work only ... now got 24 Enhanced 6.03s trying to upload results, like most of the other crunchers.

I was just able to upload most, but not all, of my completed WUs. Results reported fine as well. Cannot get any new work.

You lucked out Qsilver. Server status page is still showing the upload server as disabled. They may be working on it and turned it on for a minute just as you tried. Even so, at least something is happening so that's a good sign.

Just checked again...Messages tab shows that it connected about an hour ago: my queue is full and the remaining few tasks reported successfully.

Looks like I'm good for the weekend!

Just was able to finish my uploads, got some more downloaded. Although its still kind of hit and miss, it is back up and working somewhat. Keep those fingers, toes, and kitty paw's crossed. LOL

The fix or turned back on the upload server a while ago. So we should just be in 'recovery mode' for a while. Until something else breaks. :D

It appears Synergy is getting a lot more of the load now. Guessing Bruno was being overwhelmed so they backed it off to focus on uploads and deleting. That should help a lot, I hope.

Ahhh - now that's an idea for utilising the heat churned out by my crunchers.....

The trouble with a server farm of varying ages is that as soon as you update one server it reveals that another on is the new weak link.
Equally there is a problem having all your servers the same age - you have them all reach that fateful age at the same time. I think I prefer having to replace servers one at a time rather than a truck load at once as its (slightly) less stressful in that you are only sorting one new box and (hopefully) only one aged box at a time....

Uploads are intermittently failing, but eventually they all got through. Seems like the upload server is very busy this evening.

Only thing of concern is the status page being 27 hours old.

I have seen the server status page update at least 3 or 4 times today. At first this morning the upload server was disabled. Then later it was Running. Then disabled again. Now it shows running again.
At the moment the time stamp on it is [As of 17 Jun 2011 | 23:30:06 UTC]

Finally got 1400 tasks uploaded but looks like I can't download tasks due to 'no tasks available'

Hopefully it's just folks hitting the download cache hard and I'll get some soon. I've got about a days worth of work left.
