Hi,
it looks like Upload-Server (bruno) is sleeping well, or has a communication problem with the database server. Even when both looking like normal operation @ the server-stats-page.

26.05.2011 11:21:43	SETI@home	Temporarily failed upload of 22oc10aa.11840.393656.7.10.75_0_0: connect() failed

On my end the internet access is ok. Other projects are able to upload as usual.

The server status page hasn't updated since 23:50 UTC yesterday.
Something has fallen over and the systems are locking up.
See the panic thread.

That happens fairly often I think, even though I know about it I can forget it. If possible, it would be nice if there was some clear statement that the status page is out of date.

We need a status page for the server status page. We've been calling for that for years :P

All very funny...

The page states what time the last update was done. If that time is for example one hour or more old than the current time, then the statement could be shown in red for example, just something that all can clearly see.

And if the process that generates the updates is crashed, how does it know to show the last update in
red?

The folks at Overland really came through! They give us amazing support. One of their engineers logged into the the server and worked his magic. The RAID and filesystem have come back to life. We'll let the RAID resync and do a final reboot to clear some flags and then restart work generation.

It also appears that sometimes the displayed Status Page gets stuck, while the XML data keeps updating.
The Graphs Page seems to be changing over the last few hours while the "official" page has stayed static. The graphs will also show a "Stale Data" message at the top if the data received is beyond an hour old.

It can be done using javascript (embedded in the "Server status page"):
Get current time (UTC), compare it to the time written on the page (top-left field),
if >some difference then do whatever (e.g. color it red, add "Warning: ...")

Hi Al,

It will be fixed, how soon is hard to tell. Right now they have Overland Storage helping figure out a RAID problem, and they are trying to make temporary storage on Thumper. It could be fixed before they leave in 45 minutes, or it may wind up waiting till Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday for those of us in the USA.

Extremely easy it seems.
