Just so people know..

The spider picture is a screenshot(not mine) of the spider matron "Bogbereth"
from the game Lord Of The Rings Online. The two bipeds seem to be a hobbit and a dwarf.

A bit of imagination to use imagination on top of.

They may have wanted to portray a spider but a) I don't count 8 legs and b) the legs seem to be attached to the wrong bit of the body ;D

there are 8 attached.. when they get that big some can be beyond range of view (imperfect graphics).

It is set to where the players squish enough "little" ones, and the big one appears.

I really dont want to open up a can of worms but I will. Has Anyone else noticed that Beets has been dragging on for days at a time?

I think it is way to slow. I know we have tried to expand the rules a bit, But IMHO its only slowed the game down.

For me, if I happen to win, Im going back to the old rules. 10 captions or 24 hours wich ever comes first.

I think this round has been dragging on. I have been waiting 24 hours and 10 entries myself, often not closing it for 36 hours or so..

It gets difficult to find fresh material that is not pre-captioned sometimes.
But over 48 hours can be a bit much. I also realize real life rears its ugly head and try to be patient.

It is just a game.

I agree its just a game. But it should not drag on for days. I believe that is why the original owner set the rules as is.

James, it doesn't drag on for days. It should be up to the current winner to determine the time. You can do 24 hrs/10 captions. I will stick with 48 hrs.

James, it is Easter Weekend and in some parts of the world it is four days long.

The problem with the first of 10 captions or 48 hours is that some pictures only lasted an hour or two. (BTW, it was never 24 hours as a cap, it was 48). The reason for the 24 hour minimum was to allow more participation. Each picture is supposed to last 24 to 48 hours. If there are fewer than 10 captions at 24 hours, it should be extended somewhat, but no longer than 48 hours.

I agree that having the same picture up for 4 or 5 days does slow the thread down dramatically.

Steven Meyer:I do not agree with your procedure:
The responsability of the winner of the preceeding contest is to judge and value the captions posted during the time provided to do so....YOU DID NOT DO IT!
You have started a new captions contest......WHY IF YOU ARE NOT THE WINNER?
You have introduced a new rule on your own without notice/dialogue (as far as I know)
If you do not want/like to judge the captions, there is another one who certainly is allowed and declared as the second winner of the past contest, that´s why we declare three winners. Just in case the principal is unavailable or does not want/like the captions.
Not fair play, in my opinion.(seriously speaking)!!!

Sorry if someone got me wrong, but it is not my intention to upset anybody.
Just wanted something to be clarified. Never saw Steven Meyer´s option/action before (as long as I am here as an active member, like you all).
Actual rules are quite simple. If we want to add something or change them, it is fine for me, but before we should talk/discuss/argue about it and being able to express freely an opinion is basic. I bet most of us think the same way.
Cheers!

he's given a count but I'm not sure how to take the list. Usually its a count down. His is a count up

though I thought tucked or untucked was a bit risque
