In 4 hours and 40 minutes, give or take half an hour, we will again start fighting over uploads, reporting, and downloading of new work units. Ahh, yes...... Stay tuned for another thrilling episode of....'As the Seti Churns'. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

cool, "resent lost tasks" is in action again (k, no DL with disabled DL-servers) but nevertheless nice to see. - Performance is not a simple linear function of the number of CPUs you throw at the problem. - |

cool, "resent lost tasks" is in action again (k, no DL with disabled DL-servers) but nevertheless nice to see. Same here...just got 20 of them scheduled for the Frozen 920. Looks like the upload bandwidth has dropped to the point where they could start the download servers.....would be cool, 'cuz the Frozen one would like to get back to work and warm things up a bit again. Do you mean that you are using a hack to provoke a resend of lost tasks, or that there is some option that I can't see? I've got seven ghosts that I'd like to regain. |

The Frozen One is totally out of work. My 20 were sent in response to the normal work requests. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

I've got 38 ghosts I've been hoping would get resent. I got stuck with them on the 1st and they don't time out until the middle of next month. Two weeks is long enough, I guess I will finish my last 4 GPU tasks and do a detach. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Are they new work just sent out? The replica database is around an hour behind so they might show up in a little while. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

already have 1 machine on at "limit on taks in progress"... how about switching it off and letting us fill our caches up before the next outage... |

How about letting us little guys get a few first. My Seti cache is down to 0 on both my systems and I only need 15 or 20 to get me through the outage. Don't be so greedy there are over 100,000 other systems out there that also need work. Boinc V7.2.42 Win7 i5 3.33G 4GB, GTX470 |

Don't know which of your machines you are talking about but.......... 2 of your machines show nearly 5000 wu on board. Allowing some for ghosts, just one of your machines has enough work to last for the entire 3 day outage for all 4 of my machines. I do about 4000 total for the 3 day outage. How about leave some for us.......... Boinc....Boinc....Boinc....Boinc.... |

Not sure what's happening, but inbound traffic is way up. DDoS attack? When everyone hits the per machine limit the inbound traffic ramps up, but outbound is still pegged & i expect it'll be another day till everyone hits the limits. Grant Darwin NT |

To be honest with you, I wonder if something in the way the servers are configured right now is not the cause of the problem. I am having an extreme amount of difficulty getting downloads to complete. Not quite the same as usual when the bandwidth is pegged. I am able to get many downloads to start when hitting the retry button, but they either error immediately or start to fail one by one with HTTP errors. Usually the problem is more one of connecting in the first place. All these dropped connections and retries must be taking a toll on the available bandwidth. I have enough work assigned by the schedulers, but can't get it downloaded to process. EDIT.... And that inbound bandwidth is NOT uploading/reporting.....the server status page shows only 30K results reported in the last hour. Yet the inbound is almost as high as right after startup when several hundred K of uploads and reporting was going on. thought about the cricket graph: in the past the inbound+outbound bandwidth was fixed at 100 Mbps. Right now that is not the case. when did this change occur? or is there a problem indicated? |
