Hello my fellow beer drinkers. Im afraid im a cheap beer drinker. Once ina while i will spring the $14.00 for a six pack of nice beer, But Id rather send 6 bucks for a 12 pack of Milwaukees best.
soft^spirit sounds like you have a nice idea for a build. I wish i had the knowledge to build my own. My skill level is adding memory and one time I had to swap out a floppy drive.:)

Any beer is good! I love the Belgian Trappist ales, and of course the German beers, but I can make do until I hit the lottery. :) Lets see.. One beer, 10 dancing girls.. OK Fine!

ahh unless it is fresh off tap, I would pass on the budweiser. Too many other good things to drink I suppose.

I have been pricing pieces to put together a compu-zilla.. And over time I will get there. I tried to buy a case locally, told the guy at the local computer store my basic needs and asked for a 1200w power supply, and they kinda freaked.

heh I will build up from a twin Xeon board.. and it will be piece by piece, and a few months until I do it. But I surfed enough to find what I was looking for.

But for now.. I have money for good beer. Not constantly $4.00 for 18 ounces but.. good. Fosters or better.

I found that none of my computer parts can come locally. Every piece was hand picked, and came from everywhere. It does take time to get everything together, but it is very satisfying. It definitly sounds like you are building a mega-cruncher! As I've said before about mine... The real joy is that it does everything fast, not just crunching.

It sounds like you could actually put together a system if you had the parts in front of you. Nothing in the assembly is much more difficult than swapping out the floppy. The hard part is collecting a coherent set of parts.

I'm having a nice Ice cold Bud Light. My last day to drink for 7 days, got some meds to take. Ugh!

Is bud light beer?

I am not building for crunching.. Although it will probably do some of that too.
And I think that Steve will be out-crunching me for a Loooooong time.

I keep going back and forth weather to move to northern Michigan or Florida.. if Michigan, I can make a mega-machine an electric furnace and a basement heater. Florida.. I can not justify it for that. I do want to make some videos that do not have seizures in the middle though... and I do not want to rebuild again if I change software.

For now, I have the old amd dual working again with a new CPU fan.. and I cranked it up a bit to make up for the 2 days off it took.

And.. it looks like I have 1 more week on unemployment. Lots of variables in the future.

And the English stuff is gone.. so working on Sapporo.

No need for me to resort to Bud or Old MillwalkEEEE or anything like that. If I run out of sapporo, I have modelo and sapporo to spare. Then tomorrow.. Rum day!!!

It is like making love in a canoe.

And I can not finish that joke without having the post pulled as inappropriate.

You could always split the difference and make it Nebraska, bring the rum of course.

I think the Jack Daniels distillery would be more like half way.

What a load of ... well, bad beer.

Without offending anyone, I'll just say that the beer you like is based on your taste. Both "taste" as in what you taste, and "taste" as in what you like. There are enough people out there that CAN taste the epoxy in the can, and who care about it, to make sure that beer in bottles will be around for a long time.

I agree. Draft first, glass second, and cans a distant third. However, when you are in the wilds of the New World and can't get Guinness or Boddington on tap, the little gizmos in a can are better than nothing.

Bottled Guinness in North America is terrible, and bottled Boddington is exceedingly rare.

A few of the local microbreweries do 1 and 2 litre plastic bottles, that I would rate somewhere between glass and can. Hard to be sure, since I have never seen the same brews in glass. It also helps when you can say to the wife, with a straight face, but I only had 2!

I'll join you! Nothing like a hard day at work to come home to a cold beer! A friend of mine went to the Red Hook brewery, and will bring me a 6 pack tomorrow!

heh tried to hold my own at Trader Vics.. but I *think* we failed to finish their rum.
Last night.. went to a concert at Mountain Winery, and they said they only had vintners reserve left by the end of the evening.. did I actually do my part to drink a winery dry?

tonight.. just a beer or two and a nap. My legs are aching from all my walking around. applying a bit of hops barley and malt internally for a folk remedy.(hey, I am folk and I made it up so it has to be legit.. so there!!)

Made his breath smell like roses

Its good enough for me.
