So upload, and grab 'em while you can, this won't last for long. 'Jeder nur ein Kreuz' (everyone only one crucifix - Life of Brian, german translation. Sorry I don't know the original phrasing) Astropulses, get 'em while they are hot! Carola ------- I'm multilingual - I can misunderstand people in several languages! |

There's something in the news today, that probably some (most ?) of you won't like... |

There's something in the news today, that probably some (most ?) of you won't like... One of the concerns that has come up in all the threads about the recent outages and "upgrades" is that the capabilities of the active S@H participants has far exceeded the capabilities of the S@H servers to keep up with our productivity. Short of a major upgrade/expansion to the S@H servers, this may be one of the few options available to them. But if it makes the servers more stable and less apt to crash when they are processing our upload/download requests, I can live with that. This will probably impact the high-volume crunchers the most. So the question becomes: how will they adjust to the extra days of server outage? (Besides screaming and yelling and threatening to leave) (8{) |

So upload, and grab 'em while you can, this won't last for long. Got 3 APs the last 1½ hour, got one downloaded but the servers are busy so it's not going fast :) |

There's something in the news today, that probably some (most ?) of you won't like... Oh that's lovely, So instead of a 3-6 hour outage, It may be a 3 or 4 day outage, Wonderful, Maybe a 10 day cache won't be out of line, But what of the forums? Is that to be shut down too during that time? Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Guess they won't have to send E-mails asking folk to come back.... Yeah cause It sounds like their closing almost, If I didn't know better I'd say this was a result of state budget cuts and Prop 13 from 1978 coming home to roost finally. sigh. right now.. it is hit and miss. get 0 jobs, get 3 jobs, 0 jobs 0 jobs 13 jobs 0 jobs.. And I think the master/replica servers are pushing their limits. Downloads sometimes abort. It does seem to be catching up.. slowly. But there is a long down time it is still struggling to make up for. If everything stays up hiamps.. it seems to be getting better at the moment. Janice |
