Yeah, you bet. Better 10 years at 100 than 100 years at 10? Oh well, maybe 50 at 50...
So back on topic (so many topic with flames lately), how kitties are going mark?

The kitties are doing fine.
The crunchers are getting pretty low on work though.
And thanks for your thoughts also, Fred.

GO, TEAM SETI!!!

Jeez dude, Stop crying like a 4 year old who didnt get a cookie. My wish is all you complainers who threaten to quit, would quit. Sure you want your 100,000 but that could take months. Im sure most of us who are patient do not want to read any more of your idiotic rants.

loosen up your pigtails a bit dear. And that is a great example of what is wrong. Your lack of respect for those crunching and unhappy seems shared by the infrastructure.

As far as 100K.. servers permitting it should be by the end of the week.

With 1 machine sucking air again due to the last 36+ hour outage( it was up long enough to be the exception, not the rule) after being mostly down most of last week...

If it was only hardware problems I could be very supportive. The unanswered questions of "why are you installing untested software on the production servers(their term, not mine)" and the resulting flag waving and sneering..

You deserve each other. you really do.

The way i see it, the Seti team is under no obligation at all to keep us in work, or provide amusement for us. It's their project, they can run it as they see fit.

They aren't answerable to us, they don't owe us anything. If one doesn't want to crunch, there's always someone new to come along and replace them.

Well said and I agree. BOINC provides us with other toys to play with until this one is fixed. I see a lot of "fair weather friends" here. Eric and company are suffering through this streak of bad luck and I am content to hang in there with them, offer encouragement and a little financial help too. During the down times I crunch for another project.

Dude, oh phallus of a camel (literal interpertation). Where is your respect for the PROJECT. Forget about crunchers. They are a byproduct of the original concept.

I can't run Seti atm, because of my stock heatsink. It won't seat properly, i have a corsair h50 on order i pick up on Friday. It overheats by just looking at it. I run Raid on 3 HD's, formerly 2, but things keep messing up as i'm constantly having to try and fix my heat problem. Besides that, windows has it's odd malfunctions.

That's on 1 simple computer. One. And i haven't got to fix the windows problems, i just re-install windows. Other probs are hardware, and money. And that just happens.

Soft Spirit, have you lost all your spirit? Do you believe Seti@home staff have top of the line/state of the art equipment? Literally produced out of their backsides?

They rely on donations and participant testing. Of those, you do neither.

Yet you come to these forums, demanding entertainment and consistency of hardware/software stability?

I'll speak for myself on this only...Dude, just go away, and shut up. I don't mind a bit of bantering amongst seti participants. Hell, i love that. But don't come here criticizing the project, demanding it meets your approval. Just...go away.

My pigtails are loose, but your pantys seem to be all twisted up. Big deal the project is down. How many posts on different threads do you have to voice your displeasure? Have you PMed Dr. Anderson your inability to get on with life now that Seti is broken?
If I could Id send you 100K of my credits just so you would leave the project. But I quess we will have to suffer more of your caustic barbs at the guys who try to keep Seti going.

I came here to help find ET. Not to software test. Not with an open checkbook.
What did I seek? Just that. Nothing more, nothing less. What did I find?
some piglet that keeps calling me "dude", has no respect for others, and... what can not even crunch herself? I had offered to head down to the lab myself to work on hardware issues. But all issues in the last month have not been hardware. POSSIBLE exception of last nights.

Untested software being introduced and released to final version.. Yeah I have issues with that. I have too many years in system administration not to.
I have 2 computers.. 1 over the hill with a 9600gt in it.. and 1 newer with a gt220 in it. Both can work just fine given a chance. But more so.. no one has attempted to address the software issues they have CAUSED bringing the work to a crawl.

If you want to talk to the "shiney happy people" this might not be the right section. And I am definately not the right person.

Now go smoke a camel.

Yeah gotta love that answer too.

"Hey the warden is beating torturing and killing the prisoners"
'oh, you better complain to the warden about that'

If you want to complain about the unhappy people.. do you think they will not reply?

Do you expect it will calm people down, cause us to see your wisdom, and placate the masses?

Or do you expect it will irritate us further?

Surprise.

we don't need to run 24/7.
think of the smaller power bills.
we don't need negativity
other people are having real trouble
in the world
compared to this tiny blip.

Can I leave just before she sings? Never did like all that bellowing! :-) But I will stay till she lumbers up on stage unless she falls through then I'll stay to watch!
