On my second computer job I worked with a disk drive would not only check the data for errors but would provide correction data to correct the error. It would check 2000 bytes of data and the error check code took 32 bits of information to correct up to an 11 bit burst error. Just 1 bit? We have been out done. ID: 999336 ·
