I am set to keep 1 days worth of work on hand and have not had problems keeping SETI work on hand. I currently have two work units totaling 17 hours waiting to be sent in and 3 data units 30 hours of work to process. I am running a MAC and have a 50/50 split on my time with world community grid. I am not seeing a real problem from southern California but my needs are small because I can only earn about 400 credits a day. traceroute to 74.125.19.147 (74.125.19.147), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets 1 adsl-67-115-xxx-xxx (67.115.xxx.xxx) 19.230 ms 13.458 ms 10.874 ms 2 dist4-vlan60.irvnca.sbcglobal.net (67.114.50.66) 12.564 ms 12.016 ms 12.608 ms 3 bb2-g2-0.irvnca.sbcglobal.net (151.164.41.239) 15.716 ms 12.307 ms 18.900 ms 4 ex2-p9-1.eqlaca.sbcglobal.net (151.164.39.221) 19.676 ms 14.664 ms 12.594 ms 5 72.14.217.181 (72.14.217.181) 15.062 ms 15.306 ms 22.635 ms 6 216.239.46.180 (216.239.46.180) 12.962 ms 216.239.46.182 (216.239.46.182) 12.453 ms 216.239.46.180 (216.239.46.180) 12.716 ms 7 209.85.253.178 (209.85.253.178) 25.692 ms 24.382 ms 31.322 ms 8 209.85.251.94 (209.85.251.94) 25.583 ms 29.651 ms 36.464 ms 9 nuq04s01-in-f147.1e100.net (74.125.19.147) 27.057 ms 28.950 ms 25.157 ms traceroute to 208.68.240.16 (208.68.240.16), 64 hops max, 40 byte packets 1 adsl-67-xxx-xxx-126 (67.115.xxx.xxx) 18.080 ms 15.273 ms 15.162 ms 2 dist1-vlan60.irvnca.pbi.net (67.114.48.130) 15.495 ms 12.441 ms 13.764 ms 3 bb1-p2-1.ksc2mo.sbcglobal.net (151.164.42.7) 15.256 ms 14.151 ms 14.948 ms 4 ex3-p6-1.eqlaca.sbcglobal.net (151.164.39.245) 30.159 ms 41.356 ms 47.643 ms 5 asn6939-he.eqlaca.sbcglobal.net (151.164.251.86) 11.512 ms 12.953 ms 19.449 ms 6 10gigabitethernet1-3.core1.pao1.he.net (72.52.92.21) 27.885 ms 22.781 ms 27.017 ms 7 64.71.140.42 (64.71.140.42) 26.472 ms 23.123 ms 21.228 ms 8 208.68.243.254 (208.68.243.254) 26.714 ms 27.620 ms 27.648 ms 9 * * * 10 * * * 11 * * This address is having a problem Because I am Static IP, I blocked out part of my IP address. |

One more thing, and this is just as important: we don't want EVERYONE doing this or we will be the problem. Maybe 5 - 10 people in different geographic regions running the test at different times. Maybe the first person runs on the hour, second person at 10 minutes after and so on. I agree, can't even image how many requests are trying to get in as is. To do away with DNS resolution, can use -d on tracert for a quicker output: C:\>tracert -d 208.68.240.18 Tracing route to 208.68.240.18 over a maximum of 30 hops 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.101.1 2 7 ms 7 ms 8 ms 10.50.96.1 3 6 ms 8 ms 11 ms 24.168.128.146 4 9 ms 9 ms 9 ms 24.29.150.97 5 10 ms 27 ms 11 ms 24.29.119.150 6 11 ms 9 ms 9 ms 66.109.6.78 7 10 ms 11 ms 12 ms 66.109.6.27 8 89 ms 89 ms 90 ms 66.109.6.10 9 92 ms 89 ms 89 ms 66.109.6.137 10 109 ms 101 ms 99 ms 216.218.135.229 11 117 ms 100 ms 100 ms 72.52.92.69 12 101 ms 101 ms 100 ms 64.71.140.42 13 111 ms 105 ms * 208.68.243.254 14 * 108 ms 106 ms 208.68.240.18 Trace complete. Just for fun, Last night at 22:44:44 UTC I was able to upload and report all mine. I also got a bunch of new work. Most of those were done again overnight. Since then I have one ready to report and around 24 waiting to upload. (BOINC did this on it's own, no button pushing on my part.) PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Ralf, I was getting that message (only in english :-) ) on my machine too. I think you have to run the command prompt in administrater to get pathping to work in Vista or Windows 7. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

I am glad to see that folks onsite believe they found the communications culprit and replaced a failing switch (not the first time that has happened either). Assuming that to be the *only* problem source (and this may well be an overoptimistic assumption), I suppose we can anticipate the post 5 day outage traffic jam to persist for quite a while (perhaps until Tuesday's maintenance outage along with ITS post outage traffic jam). |

@Ralf Houven same problem here from germany - no results - tried pathping 10 min. later and got a full result - ??? @perryjay same fun here at different time, at 20.02.2010 08:39 UTC all blocked WUs were uploaded and reported and i got some new WUs to crunch (but not the full load). Before and after this time no upload/reporting/download. Maybe there is someone opening and shutdown the datatranferlines for areas/ip-ranges ? __W__ _______________________________________________________________________________ |

BarryAZ, If you are referring to the posts in the News section, That thread was started on another outage long before this problem started. Since we can't start new threads over there someone just added on to that existing post. We are all still working on this current problem. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
