I run my i7 860 at 100%, all cores, with both HT and TurboBoost (= 2.94Gz). RealTemp reports my core temps range from mid-40s to low 50s.

Cooling: case completely open and upside down (CPU on bottom); PSU outside case; Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme (w/LGA1156 adapter) with two 120mm Noctua fans at ~800rpm.[/img]

Right now I am back to HT on and running at 3.9 high 50's to low 60's. Your temps are great.

Was this directed at me? Why am I any more likely to kill my CPU than anyone else here? I don't even overclock (other than the TurboBoost thing), and have been quite aggressive at keeping my temps down.

I would hazard a guess that msattler's post was a reply to the topic "How hot do you let your i7 get?"
