Now you are making fun of him, quoting the whole thread.......... Give him a break. MF. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

If you're talking to me, I have not quoted the entire thread (but I did reference multiple parts of it), and I am not making fun of him at all. In fact, I sympathize with people who have learning disorders. I have been around them my whole life (my younger brother has LD and I've always been a slow reader). But having a learning disorder is no excuse for refusing to learn. |

Hey OzzFan, I gotta call you on that; what about shows that are not available in one's market but are available through iTunes? It's not the best way to watch TV, but it's better than nothing... |

I think its funny that his grammar and spelling got significantly worse when he talked of being dyslexic. dyslexia doesnt make you a poor speller with obvious poor spelling. dyslexia typically causes people to misplace words/letters in a sentence. the funny thing is that Firefox and IIRC newer versions of IE have spell checkers that highlight words that the browser don't recognize. back to the issue at hand. He's abandoned the thread. the cure was given to him multiple times. UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS. THEN INSTALL THE NEW BOINC. THIS ISNT ROCKET SCIENCE. MOst people have had experience downloading and installing programs. Updates are easy. you make it sound like we're asking you to write the actual code for your drivers. GRANT since theirs only like 10 homes electricity in Australia and 3 with both computers and Televisions could you pop by and help this soul. True, but then you have to add Youtube, all the videos on news sites etc. etc. as well. As I gather, this person uses a (separate) videocard with TV tuner to watch (cable) TV on his computer. That is quite different. |

I was specifically referring to the fact that Glenn mentioned he has a TV Tuner card to watch TV broadcasts on his PC. This was not in reference to sites like Hulu and YouTube or the like. Still, the computer-fearing "normal" crowd that Glenn speaks of would not be doing any of that. |

Skildude speaks the truth here. Glenn's problem, if not intentional, seems to show illiteracy and not dyslexia. This could easily make someone feel more defensive than normal, and feel like that have to fight twice as hard to prove a point for fear that being "wrong" == "stupid". To which I would helpfully suggest that I can guarantee that every single "smart" person on this message board has been wrong more than they have been right in their lives, which is how they got so smart. Well, except for Mr. Segur. His cranium was so large when he was born, he smacked the doctor on the ass and sent him home to 'is momma. ;o) |

Soooooooo...yoasur0[ qw0[f as0fj0awyt gf0a sot ei ai? Huh? Or are you asking for a public apology? Nope. I genuinely wanted to help the guy. He has nothing to apologize for as he didn't really do anything wrong. |

Ok Im going to wade in here. I disagree cuda is bad.It has help this computer's rac a lot. I agree with other on here that you have got some Vlars and your watching tv has aggraveted the problem. Now i know my computer is not like yours but here is how i have mine set up. I have an intel i7 920 2.67 GHZ 12GB of DDR 3 ram, with an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 with 1GB of ram. Now here is where i have my settings at the prefferance page, Suspend work while computer uis in use NO, suspend work while GPU work while computer is in use No. use all processore 100% of time. Under the disc and memory i have use at most 50% of memeory when computer is in use. I also use Lunatics unified installer for my copmuter it comes with a vlar killer to keep those out of my GPU. it works , I dont whack many very often but i do get some. I Crucnh on 8 cores plus the GPU Average Work unit on the CPU is 3 to 4 hours. On the GPU its 30 to 40 minutes. I crunch 24'7 and I think nothing of popping a dvd in this machine and watching a movie, Ive yet to have the type of problem you have. When was the last time you popped the cover and blew the dust off of your fans and heat sink? Do you know what your temps are? I just think the combo of your getting vlars and watching tv is your problem, But id suspect heat next. Now im not saying I dont have a problem now and then. I have two machines running windows and one mac. They all have a hiccup now and then. But a reboot takes care of that. Im not going to argue with you or debate you just my 2 cents worth that if you get off the soap box and really read the advice you have gotten. you will find and fix your problem. who actually runs a home computer with the covers on? I do too - wish I could take it off to cool down the i5 but my cats can't seem to stay away from it when the cover is off. Any one with cats out there have any ideas... |

Squirt some water on them when they go near the PC. Then they'll learn quickly enough to stay away. I won't run with the covers off, not because of the cat but her shedded hair... that stuff goes everywhere! |

I have a dog that thinks the LED 120 mm fan on my HSF is interesting. I don't stop him from looking. if it takes his nose getting stung then so be it. I can afford a new fan In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |
