Gently: Should the server be reachable/work available? Backstory: I was off line for 6 weeks, out of town. Fetched first workunit fine. Work approaching completion, boinc fishing for more. But: despite the presence of cable modem, which boinc used to fetch task, and by which i send this, boinc set out to open a dial up?? Set to 'microsoft internet referral service'. Still no connect to server. Suggestions? Wait? best dwp |

thanks folks. I was wondering what the heck also. Kept saying I need to do network communications and then it siad it was not connected but I'm on the internet and was able to even check on our account but if the servers are down then there is no problem on this end. |

Not a server. It's lost its internet router, due to which you cannot attach, download, upload or report work. Its forums and web-site are up, as those use a different connection, one that is suited for web-pages only, not for a barrage of hosts trying to upload, download and report work. Don't expect it to be back up before Monday. It's Thanksgiving Long Weekend in the USA. |

How long does it take until the maintenance is completed? It's been nearly 3 days since my BOINC had some work.. |

It's no maintenance. It was a network switch that went down just at the beginning of a long holiday weekend (see SETI homepage and technical news). Meanwhile it's running again, as someone came in during the holiday. Perhaps a reboot of your machine will help. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Now that the router is in place, I still cant download new tasks. Anyone know what this might be? I get "Downloading pending ( Project backoff: 00:21:00 )" etc.. |

After there was a problem with the router on Wednesday around Midnight, which was fixed during Thanksgiving (!!), there is since a problem with the download servers at Seti. It has to be fixed at Seti. |

But you did connect! Otherwise, your computer wouldn't show up at your account. Welcome to the boards and to BOINC/SETI! Do you get the "(Project has no jobs available)" message? That's not a problem at your side. If you have other error messages, post them here (a few at a time). Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Thank you friend for the reply. Yeas the only error massage is showing is "Project has no jobs available" (in red color). Once again thanks a lot. |
