I thought the whole idea behind the anchovie was to have those little eyes looking up at you as you ate your pizza? Just wouldn't be the same if they were stealthed. :-)

Thats the beauty of the stealth version - you don't see the eyes until it's too late!

Google shows what looks like to be a baseball field near the water tower. It's the aliens favorite game.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
Me I think scram jet propulsion and maybe anti gravity. I saw something here in NY one winter a few years ago that was big slow and silent. It had 3 white running lights so It wasnt a ufo , Out line thru my binoculars against the background of stars was like a wedge. like that wedge that has been seen down in Phoenix AZ.
Our Government has 1500 dollar hammers for a reason. Thats an appropriate line for this 4th of july weekend:)

James, just FYI, those "Phoenix Lights" are actually flares dropped by the military within the Goldwater Bombing Range; I happened to be there one year, and just by coincidence, a friend of mine happened to be camping out up here in Prescott in an area where they were able to be seen, and we both saw them (me, "up-close and personal" - at the Range as an observer) and him here about 115 miles NNW and at about 6100' elevation.
He didn't know I was down there at that time and called me to say he saw the "UFO's", and I had him describe them to me and had to let him down when I told him what they really were.

Methinks there is NOTHING at Area 51! It's actually a smoke screen for the GOOD STUFF at Area 50 (Which also doesn't exist)!

Or in Sedona, AZ. at the airport where all of the entry gates have signs on either side, proclaiming, "Now Entering Area 52"! Don't believe it? Go there (fly-in or drive; it's up on a mesa about 400' above the rest of the town) someday - ICAO/FAA I.D. "KSEZ".

What's there?
An airport.
A control tower.
Some fuel trucks and tanks.
Some barracks.
A mess hall.
An O club.
A bunch of other buildings.
A bunch of RADAR's.
A bunch of camera's.
A bunch of other sensing devices.
A [foam rubber] little green man in a pressure suit.
A bunch of MP's.
A pile of drones.
Some test models of stealth technology.
Some test models of scramjet technology.
A film processing laboratory.
A video editing suite.
A machine shop.
A water tower.
Some water ponds.
A baseball field.
A bunch of revetments with nukes.
A little to the west a bunch of radioactive holes.

What did you expect?

I am pretty sure that what you wont find there are any technologies that are "impossible", including

  • Anti-gravity
  • Invisibility
  • Teleportation
  • Walking on Water
  • Star-Trek-like Transporters

I think you are just as likely to find evidence of Bigfoot in the sands around Area 51 as you are to find spaceships, alien technologies etc etc. If anyone in here thinks otherwise the question that has to be asked is..."Why are you crunching for Seti then??? Surely you should just take the tin foil off your head and start receiving the signals yourself!!! :D

P.S. That ain't me in the pic!

I am also not an advocate of there being fictional technologies at Area 51.

In years gone by they have obviously been working on Hypersonics, Scarmjet propulsion and the stealth bomber.

Perhaps not Area 51 but I would hope that there is goverment research going on somewhere that utilises some of the technologies seen from Bert Rutan's (Scaled Composites) Spaceship One specifically the feather configuration for controlled re-entry. I also hope they are working on finding a light weight strong composite material that is reflective of EM radiation ie. that found in the Van Allen belt. Ultimately to get us further down the track of sending a manned mission to Mars.

If anyone is interested in watching the Black Sky: Race for Space documentary about Bert Rutan and SpaceShipOne its available on my website.

http://vextor.tv/content/DOCU/Black_Sky:_The_Race_For_Space

(NOTE: This documetary is working but the site is not fully live for other content until 1st August, also sorry its in so many parts I could only find it like this!!!)

To be honest I am not expecting to see anything more than some very bored security guards and a rusty looking restriced access sign, but while im in Rachel ill visit the research center that is in some guys trailer get a few snaps on the old SLR and just enjoy the experience.

Thanks for the welcome to SETI@home, hopefully ill be 24/7 crunching for a long time.

Best Regards

Kai

Kai, you will enjoy it for the breathtaking scenery, if nothing else. On the approach from mailbox road you will see some CCTV cameras perched on tripods overlooking the approach road.

Pop in to the "Ale'e'inn" and buy a map of the surrounding dirt tracks for $.20, it will save you loads of time.

Here are a few pics of the area:

A word of warning:

Apparently they take the "do not pass" signage seriously. Pass this point and risk a $600 fine or death! - Also, look out for markers on the verge along the dirt tracks - pass them and risk death also, apparently. We hung around here too long and got chased off my the infamous Chevy pick up trucks, which was a buzz in itself ;)

Once you have done the front gate (above) you can drive all the way around to the back gate - it's a long way between the 2!

If you have any specific questions drop me a note. I even have a map of the lanes somewhere that I can scan and post on here / email if you'd like it (or drop in at the A'le'inn as above).

- Apologies if the above pictures don't load. My DSL link is being a bit temperamental at the moment. If you don't see them, check back, it is working more often that not right now!

A couple more and THE MAP

The "Eat all You Can"'s were starting to show by this time in the vacation ;)

This is what the dirt tracks do to your car!

You will have a great time!
