Hi Mr. M. SJ, that was one of my favorite WWII air craft. The other was the Corsair.

I'm not up on my WWII aircraft........

From Vets who flew them in WWII they said the P38 was a match for any other fighter aircraft of WWII with a Good pilot, Of course they still couldn't catch an ME-262-a2 Jet Fighter, But the 262 flew at or near 600mph. And ironically when I got a mail box I got the same number.

Hear and See a 262 Here or Here!
Beware Jets are LOUD!

When i visited London , we went to the Imperial war museum, And i saw my first real life spitfire. WOW it looks like a fighter aircraft should.

One of my favorite aircraft of WWII, along with the P51-D.

Here's an Aircraft that could take on the P51 and It was almost as fast as the 262.

Not many were made, But It's a real rare bird.

I built a 1/32 scale model of the 262, They are beautiful aircraft indeed, On a related note, One US Fighter If You ever see It has 262 swept wings(35° vs 18.5° of stock) that were slated to be installed after March of 1945, That aircraft is the F86 Sabre.

If You think that's good Los Angeleses Griffith Park has a real rarity a V1 flying "Buzz" Bomb, The worlds 1st Cruise Missile, It if It's still there was painted as a US Navy aircraft in two tone Blue.

This one is in Washington DC at the Air and Space Museum.

This is the Pacific war's most underrated navy fighter. the F6F hellcat. Never got the glory that the corsair did but was the ace maker of many navy pilots.

That's only cause the Japanese back then couldn't make any 262 aircraft clones in time, Or they would have had a real fight on their hands I suspect.
