Message 877235 - Posted: 19 Mar 2009, 18:20:36 UTC - in response to Message 877233.

How about the temps We see around where I live Andy?

If you mean the heat, no, that would probably kill us all too :D

The highest temperature ever recorded in the UK is 38.1C, 100.5F.

When I was in Palm Desert (US) last year I saw 122F (50C) on 2 days and believe me, us Brits aren't cut out for that!

Would we cope here in the UK, no. I'd be OK as long as the electricity stayed on as I have whole house AC, but I am probably the only house on the estate that does and one of only a relatively small number in the UK that does.

The UK, being a relatively small island surrounded by water, doesn't see extremes in temperature very often, hot or cold.

Even I wouldn't/won't live in the Low Desert, It's way too hot there, You'd like the Victor Valley area though, It's about 45 miles from here as It's usually 5-15F cooler than way out here as It's near the mountains which provide a refrigerator effect(Freezer effect in the winter though, But not too cold, Like down to as much as 32F/0C).

Looking at your 22C now, that's about as warm as it got here all last Summer! Roll on this Summer!

I park My car under a carport where the car gets partial shade, Which helps keep the cars internal temps down, One of these days I'm going to have the AC in the Car worked on, At least the AC there doesn't use R12 refrigerant(410a I think).

We did get the snow they threatened, but not too bad. when we get "lake effect" like this it can be very local. 2 miles away could get a major dump, we just got a trace. Lucky this time.

Another chilly morning with clear skies, which sets us up right for another beautiful Spring day. In fact, meteorologically speaking today is the equinox, so the first day of Spring ( in some people's eyes ).

Feels the same here this morning klc. Everything is white with frost this morning, but again we have clear skies so only a matter of time before the sun gets to work to burn off the frost and pick up the temperatures.

It stayed milder here last night, with a low of just 3.8C.

Right now it's 7.6C and yet another clear, sunny day :)

Today is the 2nd complete day of spring here in NH, so naturally it is snowing! It won't amount to anything because it is melting a quick as it is falling, but I can't help but get the feeling that mother nature is thumbing her nose at us. 39F outside at the moment.

I've power to the house and I imagine the whole park knocked out 3 times today, We had gusts to as much as 48mph today(39mph for just normal wind).

Temps were around 48F @ 7:13pm PDT of course and We did get some rain and yeah that wind felt cold too, Standing in It for more than 1 minute was almost too much.

We're doing OK here, compared to some parts of Canada. A foot of snow on the east coast, flooding in Manitoba, freakin' cold in northern Alberta. At least we are sunny, with a chance of some warmth later in the week.
