Yeah, I keep getting resends, and when I see them, I manually move it to the top of the list to get it gone and out the door ASAP. For the past two weeks, my average turnaround for AP is under 55 hours (assigned to reported).

I'm still waiting on a AP_v5 WU. I changed my venue to one that has the "allow from other apps" option enabled, and I spliced the appropriate lines into app_info, but to no avail. I know they're not exactly flooding out to the masses, but the splitters are burning through the tapes pretty fast, so there's got to be some available at some point..

Cleaned up all the MB I had and then removed MB from my app_info file. Restarted BOINC manager and got 2 AP 5.03's. Working on them now.

Ready for the opp app whenever we get enough data on validation.

Hello HarryM,

did you get this 5.03 asking for astropulse (only), or did you have 'Receive work for other applications' enabled while asking for work?
Regards,
John.

I had to have the 'Receive work for other applications' enabled. My understanding is that AP 5.03 is considered an "other application".

I had previously added the AP 5.03 info to my app_info file.

Okay, thanks. That's my understanding also. I'm desparately trying to snatch some ap's (I have only one right now) to keep the cores of my quad busy. Never had a 5.03 until now, only 5.00 resends. My app_info.xml is correctly set up, I think. Well, I guess I'll just have to be patient a little longer :-)

Regards,
John.

Some dam must have broken or something. I just got 11 AP 503's and 9 AP 500 in the last hour. Hope the opp app gets released soon.

I'm thinking of doing NNT for a day or two (I have just over 4 days of all MB in my cache) and see what happens when I allow tasks again.

That probably would help, here's an additional helper:

Uncheck both SETI@home Enhanced and Astropulse in the prefs, keep "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications? yes" set. I checked the Scheduler code, if either of the apps is selected it does a special scan of the shared memory list from the Feeder looking only for the selected type(s), and if that fails then it looks for any type. Deselecting both apps skips the first scan and since all the apps are "other" they're treated equally.
                                                                Joe

Good to know. I'll give that a shot. I should be able to have something to post within 24 hours.

[edit 20 seconds later] If you deselect MB and AP and leave "other" checked, on the venue summary, it changes to allowed: (all applications) instead of listing yes/no for both. So I got rid of MB and left AP and other selected. We'll see what happens. [/edit]

I set mine like this and still ended up with 5 AP and 1395 CUDA WU's...

Well I suppose the good thing is that I don't do CUDA..so I figure it's probably the same as checking for 5.00, then giving me MB6.03s instead of AP5.03. I just want one. Is that too much to ask for? Just one?

That's a great trick! I used those settings on my quad, which has a venue different from the others. It started asking for work and the 5.03 ap's flooded in, along with 6.08 mb's. That'll keep quaddie warm during the weekend :-)

Thanks for the tip, Joe!

John.
