Hot?? Apparently you haven't been to Phoenix, AZ. in their summer! 6% humidity is wet for them. Normal humidity in the summertime is around 2%. The first year I was there (2002), it was 130 in the shade and 2.5% humidity. Their nighttime low averaged 100F at 2am! Glad I moved north to Prescott. We're around 4,000 ft. higher in elevation than them and as a result, our daytime high (in summertime) is about their nighttime low.

Well, it is now a snowfall warning here (I think that is is Weather Threat Mauve).

The worst snow hasn't hit us yet, but I hear it is pretty bad in the small towns south of here. Apparently the snowplow didn't get out in Fingal before the morning rush started, and now both cars are stuck.

Here is the text of the warning, plus local conditions.

"It now appears that heavier snow from this storm will affect a large part of southern Ontario southeast of a line from Lake St Clair to lake Simcoe to the Petawawa area. Snowfall amounts near 15 cm are expected by this evening over areas from Kitchener southwest across London to Windsor. 15 to 20 cm of snow are expected in the Golden Horseshoe into Niagara then northeast across Peterborough to Renfrew. 20 to 25 cm possibly up to 30 cm of snow are expected in eastern Ontario including the national Capital region into the St Lawrence Valley.

Date: 7:00 AM EST Wednesday 28 January 2009
Condition: Light Snow
Pressure: 100.9 kPa
Tendency: falling
Visibility: 3 km

Temperature: -6.9°C
Dewpoint: -8.2°C
Humidity: 90 %
Wind: ENE 13 km/h
Wind Chill: -13

Phoenix AZ, That's a bit of a lower temp than Death Valley CA, Which has gone as High as 134F and has almost no rainfall(0" to 0.4").

Oh and this Guy lives there:

Temps in the 40 Cs? Ouch!

Highest ever recorded here in the UK was 38.3C, 101.3F in August 2003 (Faversham Kent).

The warmest I have experienced was 46C, 115F in Palm Desert last year. That was seriously uncomfortable heat for those of us that aren't used to it!

Edit - today has seen the warmest temps of 2009 here so far at a balmy 10.2C! The cold is on the way back though for the weekend :(

Last Year was a cooler Year around here as Temps didn't get beyond 110F(43C), And the usual temps can go as high here as 115(45C), but Our humidity is quite low and is bearable for short periods and for as long as one doesn't touch any Metal of course as that's liable to be hotter still. :o

Roadrunners are here, too, SJ. In fact, there's one particular one at the Sedona, AZ. airport (airport I.D. "SEZ") that's constantly being chased (and never been caught - yet) by one of the coyotes there, so, consequently, the locals call them "Wiley" and "Beep-beep".

As a side note, all of the gates to get on the field there (Sedona - SEZ), have signs on either side of them with large alien faces and the saying, "Welcome to "Area 52" :-P (That's just because the EAA is very active at that field)

Recently I could've swore I saw a Roadrunner running across the road here in Yermo, But sorry there was no Coyote in sight giving chase.
