I am running Ubuntu 8.10 64-bit. I have boinc_6.4.5_x86_64-pc-linux-gnu installed. It finds my 9400 GT as a CUDA device. I have preferences set to use the GPU if available. When I am running the client it uses just my 2 cores of my CPU. I see this in my system manager and with the fact that my GPU temp never goes up when the projects are running. What is messed up or what setting needs to be changed for it to use my GPU?

At this moment the only operating system that has a CUDA capable application is Windows. Neither *nix, nor Mac have an application out yet and thus aren't supported.

You may want to try to compile it your self from source, but to be honest, I would wait until the developers have knocked out most of the bugs.

I think that is a routine in BM that detects Cuda-Devices and do not mean there is a application out to use it ...
