Well folks.....

The Frozen Penny has broken the ice on it's last WU.....
At least as a 'frozen' Penny...

The good buddy has decided to give up it's chilly home so I can transfer the phase cooler to the new Nehi rig.

(Sniff)...such an emotional moment....

Let it stand that when I took it down, it still held the record for the fastest 4 core rig ever on Seti.

I will bring it back up on air cooling, but I have no idea how it will respond after being run so hard for so long in it's frozen state.

I can only hope that the Nehi responds to it's frozen treatment nearly as well as the Penny did.

And as the Nehi shivers and says...'Help, Mr. Wizard, I don't wanna be an ice cube...', the saga continues...

Wish me and the kitties luck folks....it might be a long night.

To the cores about to freeze, I salute you!

From one Core i7 owner to another, good luck with the Frozen Nehi!

Noted - looking forward to the Frozen Nehi and what you can get out of it. Mine is still air cooled
with the crappy stock fan and it now is my top 3 machine - thing is the other two machines
are dual CPU/die systems and my Nehi is a single CPU/die. Can't wait to see what Mark
can get out of his rig.

Good luck Mark

Just completed the build and fired the phase cooler up....

Reaching -34.6c with no load....

'Bout ready to hit the power button....

Spin 'er up....ramming speed.....or not.

What? Someone is still using a CPU to crunch? . . .
Best of luck on both machines Mark!

gomeyer, there are one or two of us left.

Mark, hope you take it nice and easy, don't want you to kill any part by rushing it.

My brief foray into using CUDA led me to decide that machines capable of many simultaneous threads may well be better off with the 'traditional' optimised apps.

Agreed completely - CUDA has enormous potential but is not yet ready to compete with optimized apps when it comes to Quadies. My foray has proven it true as well.

I'll stick to my cpu only crunching as well.
Im to lazy to upgrade to new apps :)

I could run a frozen system if it was waterproof. We got 2 feet of snow and its plenty cold....

Good luck with the thawing and freezing Mark. Please be careful and make sure that the only things you are going to break are records :-)

John.
