I wish Veterans Days or Armstice Day was international and people had the day off. We in the UK had two minutes silence at 11:00 and that is all we had.

It should be remembered in a far more spectacular way. Although the 2 minute silence is good. There must be some other way of marking such a major date.

At least it's something. I wish Election Day was a national holiday. And it would only happen once every 2 years anyway...so it's not a big loss for any business. But it would be a great gain for USA morale.

Actually.....
You have a very good point. What in the USA could be more important than election day?? At the very least, every 4 years, the presidential election should be a national holiday so nobody would have an excuse not to take the time to get out and vote.....

You know, back in South Africa, when we have elections (which is a national holiday), so many people show up that the government declares the following day also a national holiday. That is done so that all people can vote. I guess voter turnout is also pretty high so as to try to force the second day to be a holiday ;) But you're right - the presidential election should be a national holiday - otherwise people might not go and vote.

In the UK our elections are every 5 years, however they can be called any time within that period. So an Election Day holiday would be impossibke, they have even cancelled talks about a day of for a UK day( Independence Day)

The Roman Empire??

Isn't that who King Arthur (the source of the legends) was fighting against?

Sorry King Arthur if he lived was mainly fighting against the Angles and the Saxons who invaded from Germany and also different tribles within the kingdom.
