A recent discussion led to this question........

How many of you dream in color and how many in black and white????

I only dream in black and white.....at least those I can recall upon waking......
Had a visit from the kitty that I found on the road a few weeks ago just last night, she came back to say 'thank you' for caring.....and I woke up for a moment and saw her loving eyes.....and a little later woke up to find myself nuzzling a blanket....
But the vision was real.......

So......how many of you dream in color?

I do, always have. A long time ago I dreamt about getting a green pair of pants for Christmas, well I got them. Deja Vu and dreaming in color... wierd, but true.

As far as I recall, I dream in color.

You don't remember?

The very few I do wake up and remember are in B&W........

But this one was so very vivid........

I don't really have a good memory...

But: Do you remember in B&W or do you dream in B&W?

Colour.

How many of you have lucid dreams (i.e. dreams where you know you are dreaming and have some control over the process?)

I dream in color, sometimes they're lucid, and sometimes I wake up with 'battle scars'... ;)

Yes, I dream in color. In fact, I never even realized that certain people dream exclusively in black and white until about ten years ago.

edit: I've had two (authentic) lucid dreams, kenzieB... It's an extremely bizarre experience. I knew it would only last a couple minutes - so I went wild and tried to do as much as possible before waking. I did a lot of weird stuff! haha

I have had several of those lucid dreams, dreams where I am aware of that I'm dreaming. I also have woken up some times where the dream continued, I knew for sure I was awake, but the dream went on. I have had several of those, some quite scary experiences. I won't say more about them here. Let me just say that Lilith is not my friend, neither is Thaumiel. I have had several premonitions in that state too, the moments right after I have woken up, where I "saw" things. Same in those moments just before I fall asleep, where I can consciously leave my body, it took some years of meditation practice to be able to do that.

And I always dream in color. As MeltWreckage I wasn't aware of that some dream in black and white.

But usually it's

A true lucid dreamer? (i.e. control of dreams while in REM sleep).

Most people who think that they are having lucid dreams are actually in that pseudo-hypnotic state between being asleep and awake. Real lucid dreaming (during the REM part of the sleep cycle) if quite rare.

And your ‘True Lucid Dreaming’, where the dreamer takes complete control over the dream process is exceptionally rare. It is surprising to find two in such a small sample.

Ahh, OzzFan just wanted to point out that he dreams in technicolor and cinematic wide screen. Good one, OzzFan. :-D LOL

I believe that that little kitty came to you to say thank you. Cats have a way of coming back and showing themselves in dreams, also when you are awake by showing up as a glimpse out at the corner of your eye, and when you turn your head to look, it's not there. It's it's little ghost you can see.

Back when my old Sos died, which happened quite suddenly, none of us, the vet and I, were aware of how sick she really was, that her kidneys practically had stopped working, and she was put to sleep, she came to say goodbye to me in a dream a few nights later. I dreamt that I was sleeping and then I woke up by her standing beside the bed. I said "Hey little Sos, are you there?" and then she meowed and jumped up to me, and we cuddled. I petted her and she purred, and we had a really good cuddle time there in the bed. Then, suddenly, just as when she was alive, she got enough of cuddling, so she jumped down from the bed, went out to the entrance hall. I got out of bed, following her, and then she went, as that little ghost she was, not out of the open door but through the closed door. That was her goodbye to me. I also noticed when I woke up, right after the dream, that Fred, her brother, which really missed her and looked for her several days, settled down after that dream, so maybe she said goodbye to him also? Who knows?

Oh......I had no control over the dream........it was in kitty's control throughout......
And I have no doubt she was there to say thank you for taking care of me......
And she kissed me...........it was a very special gift she gave me.........

Go ahead, make fun of it................meow.

No, not at all. I wasn't meaning to poke fun at you - in fact, I was just answering the questions presented in the thread and thought I'd try to be funny too. Nothing was aimed at anyone at all.

I wouldn't dream [pun intended] of telling you what happened or didn't happen in your case. I wasn't there.
