OK.....I'll start it out with yet another kitty poem......although I have not yet figured out where it will take me.....

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Another shot of whiskey for to set my muse alight,
for I'm not sure where my kitty muse
shall take me where tonight.

My Squirrel kitty sits here close at hand,
she is watching me bemused
as I sit here a clicking on my keyboard
she seems so quite amused.

She has such big eyes as she sits here with me....
Such a look, kitty lovers, you really should see.

My mood is light and airy,
and the kitties come and sit
to watch me type my words of lore
'bout the kitties and their bit.

They seem to understand that I
am talking bout their kind.
And that I know their kitty thoughts
and their happy kitty minds.

Have you ever seen a kitty smile?
They DO....and that's the truth.
They've kitty smiles and kitty wiles
which remind me of my youth.

I do implore you all to share your kitty lore in this, my kitty thread.
For if life was more like kitties' lives,
it would be a joy instead..
Of wondring what troubles await us just around the next bend.
For the smile of a kitty can circumvent almost any bad end.

I wish you all happiness, and that your life treats you kindly
and that you share any kitty dreams you have here all so finely.

This just makes me so angry...........from CNN.......and I know I am not supposed to copy this here......but....

NEW YORK (AP) -- Trial has begun for a baseball player-turned-actor accused of brutally killing a cat in a jealous rage after complaining that his ex-girlfriend cared more for the furry feline than she did for him.
Norman the cat died of massive internal injuries and suffered broken ribs and teeth.

Assistant District Attorney Leila Kermani said the cat named Norman died with broken teeth, broken ribs, a broken leg, a torn tongue, massive internal injuries including bruised lungs and a bruised liver and a chest cavity filled with blood.

"The defendant, in a fit of anger and rage, beat a defenseless animal to death," Kermani told the jury in her opening remarks Wednesday. "The defendant killed Norman simply because he was an angry, jealous and drunken bully."

Former New York Mets minor leaguer Joseph Petcka, 37, is on trial on charges of aggravated cruelty to animals for killing Norman on March 27, 2007, after a night of heavy drinking. He faces up to two years in prison if convicted.

Petcka's lawyer, Charles Hochbaum, admitted his client kicked the 8-year-old tabby and "swatted him really hard" after the cat bit him, but he said his client did not mean to kill him.

"This was a tragic accident," Hochbaum said. "It was not intentional."

Hochbaum complained the district attorney's office never offered his client a plea deal. He said outside court he believes that was because of the publicity the case attracted and the urgings of cat fanciers.

Norman's owner, Lisa Altobelli, testified she had dated Petcka about six weeks before he killed her cat. She said one night they quarreled and he began drinking heavily. She said she went to bed to avoid him but he woke her around 3 a.m. by putting his knee in her ribs and complaining that Norman had attacked him.

Altobelli, a Sports Illustrated reporter, said she left the apartment after Petcka refused to calm down.

She said Petcka had complained, "You love that cat more than you love me," but she had no idea Norman would be in danger. When she returned home Norman did not meet her at the door as usual. She found his body under her bedside table.

Petcka, a pitcher briefly in the Mets' minor league system in 1992, later appeared in a Brawny paper towels commercial and had small roles in "Sex and the City" and other television shows. Hochbaum said his client had more recently worked as a bartender and waiter

I am torn between my nature of forgiveness and the wanting to tear his throat out.................

I'll give the original link here, because it includes a picture of the poor kitty......

Guys like this deserve the worst....I will leave it up to God to decide his penance..........

That is one of the worst things I have ever heard. I hope he gets every last second of time that he has coming to him, and is never allowed to own/have pets again.
If that was done to him it would be considered brutal, and cruel and whom ever did it would be facing death or life in prison. It is even worse for the pets.

And now for some more uplifting kitty news........

From KPHO news in Phoenix....some folks who value kitties more than their home.

PHOENIX -- A couple rescued the last kitten from the wall of a suburban Phoenix home Thursday night.

Bob and Laura Hawkins stapled a cardboard box underneath the hole in the wall where the kitten was stuck, draped a towel over the hole and put the kitten's littermates in the box.

The kitten got curious and eventually came out of the wall.

The Hawkinses first discovered their unexpected roommates -- a litter of 3-week-old kittens -- two weeks ago.

"The first night we moved in, we started hearing noises in the wall," said Bob Hawkins.

The litter was born inside the walls of the home before they moved in, he said.

At first, the 3-week-old fur balls were in the attic, Bob Hawkins said.

His neighbor, who is with Assured Air Conditioning, came to the rescue. He removed the unit and crawled 15 feet down an 18-inch-wide cavity.

"It was tough crawling back in there, but I saw a section lower than the rest and got in there and kept calling and shined the flashlight and saw some eyeballs looking back at me," said Jim Postelethwait.

Postelethwait grabbed two of the kittens and crawled back out. The others fell down an airshaft to the lower part of the house.

"We began cutting holes in the walls to find the cats and used a stethoscope to locate them," Bob Hawkins said. "They had some extra foundation because of the staircase, so I cut a bit higher and saw a head peek around the corner."

Now, they're going to have to add home repair to the list of to-dos after having to damage a wall to get their unexpected roommates out.

The Hawkinses, who have three grown cats of their own, said they didn't hesitate when it came to knocking numerous holes into their brand-new home.

"It's only a wall," Bob Hawkins said. "What's really important is the cat's lives. We can repair the wall."

When the final kitten refused to come out, the Hawkins said they called the Arizona Humane Society, other animal rescue groups and the fire department. None of those places would help with the rescue.

So they continued to try to coax the kitten out with food.

"Laura used tuna fish, cod liver oil, sardines and milk and the cat won't come out," Bob Hawkins said.

After the kitten finally came out, the family named the little female "Trouble."
