This is probably going to be my last post on Chrome today but, since so many of you are interested in the new browser, I thought I would share this story about Chrome’s ToS (terms of service agreement) Mouseprint?:

I see we have a Chrome thread in the Cafe. http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=49134.

Apart from Joker's comments, I noticed that Chrome insists on being installed on C: drive.

As my C: drive is 10% of the size of my D: drive, where I usually install all programs, I will give Chrome a miss until they fix at least that "feature".

I know that IE8 is beta, but I think that Microsoft needs to ensure that most of the bugs are resolved before releasing to the public.

I installed it 2 days ago & immediately lost favourites folder & all bookmarks. On uninstalling it, it corrupted IE7. It would not launch from a desktop icon or the start menu. It would not open to the properties page from the icon or even in control panel.

Simple answer according to Microsoft is use System Restore. Did so & even this failed to return IE7 to it's former glory.

Fortunately for me, I have WHS & restored my C drive to the day before IE8 installation. Now back to normal.

Again, I think Microsoft is rushing things to be able to compete with it's competition.

As for Google Chrome, I'll give that a miss as I think they may have trouble with their T&C's regarding Intelectual Rights.

I only use IE6 when I need MS updates. I won't use IE for anything else because of its nasty habit of allowing virii, trojans, malware, and other various nasties to walk right into my PC. I've been using FF/mozilla for over 8 years and haven't gotten one trojan or malware from surfing the net.

I dont think so Henri.

Now there should be: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2008/09/16/internet-explorer-8-beta-2-now-available-in-25-languages.aspx

Yes! :D

EDIT: But apparently only for 32-bit Vista. I have, of course, 64-bit Vista (Finnish version).
