Damn....I should've known what I was in for when I saw the website labeled "Alien Casebook" with links to stories like "UFO discovered in Criss Angel program!" For a second there I was *genuinely* a little excited...but then I actually read the story and realized what had happened. The "FIRST RADIO SIGNAL" wasn't detected.... The story isn't about a "RADIO SIGNAL" or even a new interstellar radio source, the story is about the university's own radio telescope MAKING ITS FIRST DETECTION! Not "THE" first detection, but the telescope's first detection! Sagittarius A is a KNOWN radio source; all radio astronomers know about it! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagittarius_A* Even worse than the fact that the website blatantly, almost comically twisted this story into something it wasn't, they make an obvious error at the beginning of the article. Gilese 581 is in the constellation Libra, not Sagittarius!! |

Guess I read through it too quickly! Everybody wants to be the first to detect something! No worries, mate. The article got me for a bit too. We all want that day to come when the first alien signal is confirmed... Hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer... :( |

If they are looking at the center of sagataris that might be a super massive black hole feeding. That is a very active area in that turbulant galaxy. Then ET is saying help me SOS>>>>>>>>> |
