One of my quads is about to hit 90 days.

I had a Cobalt server running at home once that had an uptime of 390 days before it eventually fell over.

This is a big place, with lots of like minded people so no doubt there are some good uptime figures around?

Longest I have had is about 30 days, before something tragic happened...usually a power outage or a reboot needed for software installation.

My little P4 HT has been able to go 14 days without a reboot, and its used for everyday stuff along with crunching. As John Galt said, usually have to reboot for some software update or power blip.

Hi Andy and John
One host, the oldest too, a Pentium D820 (Smithfield), 135 days, then |I had to reBOOT, cause several UP-dates requested a reBOOT.
My Q6600, with VISTA 32 HP, 96 day's, also reBOOTed, cause off UPdates.
Runs stock, with optimized app. AK_V8_SSSE3x and BOINC 6.2.12.

That's going to take some beating.

I've still got the longest cruncher uptime at the moment then. Maybe not having automatic updates turned on is a big help? ;)

Almost 1 and a 1/2 year, jeeeeehh, that is long.
A Power (Black) Out, is very rare, in West Europe and U.K.
Have a PII @ 350MHz with UBUNTU 7.10, that's on for 107 day's, but not used for cruching, way too slow, compaired to the rest off the host's.

You reckon? We get blackouts here several times a year. I have a very large UPS though, capable of supporting 2KW/h for about 4 hours - if that is in danger of failing then I have a petrol generator that will run until it runs out of fuel. As a result of these 2 I haven't had a total power failure in the house for over 3 years despite numerous balckouts on the mains in that time.

Well, typically my hosts get shut down a couple three times a year for physical maintenance.

However, they all just went through their maintenance cycle and were all over 140 days uptime, including the 9x'ers. Looking over the logs the last time they had an unscheduled restart or shutdown was from a power outage back in the early spring.

352 days on a P4-3GHz running Mandrake Linux 10.0. Had to shut down due to a power outage that lasted more than the 10 minutes the UPS can handle. My target was at least a year so I cleaned the inside a couple of times while it was running...

I'm only up to 42 days on my uni desktop. Only reboot when updates complain enough to make me do it.

But I think I have to shut it down next week as the uni is going to be testing the RCD's in the building overnight...

I have one computer that I don't play with (a P3 500mhz server/router) that has had some pretty good uptime but it's nothing to brag about because of the many power outages where I live. I live at nearly the end of a long dead end road and have power outages every couple of months. So I can only get a couple months uptime on it. (I guess I need a UPS for that one). My main "working" computer is a dual boot so I can't get much uptime on it because of having to boot into windows every couple of weeks (or more often) to do something in Windows that I can't do in Linux. If I could do everything in Linux then this one would have some pretty impressive uptimes.

Does my PS3 running Yellow Dog count? I've got 87 days on it now (that was the last time I wanted to watch a Blu Ray movie and not use my laptop...) I bet it could easily go a lot longer if I don't want to watch a movie or play a game.

There is a good windows command
systeminfo | find "Up Time"
. Mine currently displays 1 Days, 2 Hours, 1 Minutes, 11 Seconds

And as such uptime can be measured in either days or weeks depending on what happens to the grid, Last time We lost 15-18 power poles and suffered for about 19 hours,

I feel confident that if we lost 15-18 poles here our downtime would be more like 19 days than 19 hours. :D

Hehe, yep here where I live we had a storm that knocked out the power and I saw lights on at houses up the road from me about an hour later. But they didn't even think to check the rest of the houses for power! We went three whole days before they got around to getting our power back on!

The average power outage time here in the Netherlands is 22 minutes per year. I believe this had been the figure for the last 25 years. Not surprising since most of the power cables are underground.

My iMac has hit 44 days before I had to install some updates that required a reboot. It is currently at 5 days as I shut down last Thursday during the power failure and after installing an OS update.
