G'Day Dirk & all,

Hmmmm... Amaretto is one ingredient of Flaming Dr Pepper...
Coincidence that both Amaretto & Dr Pepper are posted back-to-back,
or do we want to see flaming drinks here in the Moon Bar?

HAPPY EQUINOX EVERYONE

. . . and To You Sir!

> for those that may not know

In the language of science, an equinox is either of two points on the celestial sphere where the ecliptic and the celestial equator intersect.

For the rest of us, it's one of two times a year when the Sun crosses the equator,

and the day and night are of approximately equal length . . .

At the autumnal equinox (Sept 22, 2008; 11:44:18 A.M. EDT), the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator,

from north to south; this marks the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.

EEERRM...Sorry sir but day and night are always equal at the equator and the Autumn Equinox is when day and night are the same length at the tropic of Cancer, the most Northerly point at which the sun is directly overhead at noon. I know, look where Dubai is LOL. I also lived in Ivory Coast for a while which is pretty near to the equator.

Download your free Sunclock.5 and you will see that today the Terminator is vertical and slowly becomes a sign wave as we approach the winter solstace on Dec 21st at which time it starts to reverse pattern.

There is a Sunclock.6 and 6.5 but they have features which are free trial only and switch off after 30 days.
I run Sunclock 5 with the sea bed switched off and the Moonshadow slightly enhanced.
It's great for pinning your friends on the map so that you can see what the time is where they are.
Apologies to former members of Crunchers Cafe. You have seen this post before!

Against all odds and contrary to expectations Skofus has made a remarkable recovery.

Thanks to the unstinting efforts and hard work of the Law Enforcement Authorities, The Dept. of Transport, The Parks Dept. and The Ministry of Power and Industry Skofus is now in the pink of health.

On behalf of Mayor Uli, one and all for your efforts.

Cheers and Skaal.
