Meandering threads cut down on the project's ability to detect ETI.
It is also sends a bad message to the young ones when they see that, when adults voluntarily speak with each other, adults cannot help but go off on tangents.
Please, end this bad habit and respect the topic set by the thread author.
Then again, is it the thread authors that care so much?
What say you, thread authors?
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

Adult discussion, by nature, tends to wander from topic to topic........
And please, I think you are a bit off base by insinuating that a simple thread going off topic impacts the project's efforts.
The forums use so little bandwidth compared to the crunchers asking for work...

If a thread were to go from apples to oranges, I'd say fine.

If a thread goes from apples to orangutans, we can talk about orangutans for a bit, but I'd like to see it get back to apples before the week is out.

Though very few of us can talk about apples for more than a few minutes, before we have to go to something that is interesting. Like women..... unless you're a woman.

What were we talking about?

If I had been one to always keep the Myths, Legends, Conspiracies thread " on topic " then there is no way it would have survived 11 spawns.

It wanders around constantly. But yet...it always manages to find it's way back.

What a wonderful approach!
Here's an example of how the thread author clearly states at the beginning of each spawn of the thread that going a "bit" off topic is o.k.!
No splicing required, eh?

Do you consider the eating of oysters to be moral and the eating of snails to be immoral?

If the neighbor is a very nice lady then so should the bathroom be very nice. Who couldn't be interested in that?

Or if it's the bathroom of their dreams? Like this one. Maybe people are envious?

If it comes with a big screen TV and mini-fridge I'd never need to leave.
