This is not a political statement, but a genuine thank-you to those that have recently retired. I have had 1 or 2 disagreements with a few people, but I think, on balance, they have mostly done a good job. I am relatively new to these forums, having had a complete break from SETI between 2004 until January 2007. I have read some of the old threads from the years before I re-joined, and it looks like the forums were like the "wild west" for a while. The job of moderator is a mostly thankless task. Who were recently retired? Look through the postings by anyone and you can see if they are a mod or not. This is difficult to do for those who are currently banished, but I know of at least 3 ex-mods who were mods until yesterday. Well, I also want to thank the retired mods for their work. Knowing this job myself (been there done that) I know what it's like... I may have disagreed with some of them and some of their decisions, but overall they mostly did do a good job as far as I'm concerned. *duck & run* Account frozen... ID: 747038 · |

Eric has requested passing on conjecture and speculation until the Admin posts the updates on the changes that occur. I would request we respect Eric's wishes. This thread is to thank the retiring mods for their work over the years. If you want to discuss other things, the politics forum is there for you. Everyone makes some mistakes. I think overall that they mostly did a good job. Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008
