I have to refresh my screen when reading the pages here in order to clear the little yellow indicators on the threads I have read. Is this happening to everyone here or is it only on my system? Just started happening over the last weekend.

If you go back by using the "Number Crunching" link rather than the Windoze Back button then it clears the yellows.

Has been noted in a couple of other threads, and, yes, I find it annoying too!!

What's wrong is it still shows a thread you haven't looked at - after you've looked at it.

I have become accostomed to using the IE browser "back" button. It used to clear the yellow pages as I read the threads. Now it does not. Started happening last weekend and is happening on all 6 of my boxes.

You must not be using the "backspace" key to get back to the threads, if I re-load the page with the link up top, it clears away the unread marks, but if I backspace back to the page, it doesn't. Also, used to be that when I backspaced, it would re-load the whole page from the top down, ie. I "lost my place" on the page. Now, if I'm half way down, click into a thread, and hit backspace, I'm still half way down on the page.

IME Safari’s Back button has always shown the exact same view as before, yellow notices & all, so I’m in the habit of using the “Number crunching” (or whatever) link anyway.

Getting a response would be a good thing.........

I don't know if he is aware of this yet or not.........
Have not tried PMing him directly yet........

Am I the only person on the boards here having a hard time with the "yellow pages" not clearing after reading a thread? I'm about ready to wipe my hard drive and reload the OS to see if that fixes it! It's (GD)aggravating that they won't clear like before!

When I hit the back button, its still there. Its not you. Anymore I just click on the Number Crunching link to take me back to the forum, the yellow pages are gone then.

Same problem still here using Seamonkey (Mozilla)...
No refresh of the pages when using the backbutton...
Has anybody seen any response as to whether this was an intended change a number of weeks ago or if it is a side effect of some other code updates?

. . . a related note from Eric - he mentioned that Matt's out sick (i don't know IF he's still - at the moment) but there's a number of issues that'll be dealt with once Matt is back - again - whether or not your specific mention is that which Matt'll deal with - i am not sure - just thought it worth the mention though

Orbit@home got a new server and reloaded the web software. That site is now working the same as here, I have to use the links to go back and have the thread(s) marked as read.

Einstein and CPDN are still using the 'old' software, and using the browsers 'back' button works as it had in the past.

Likewise BOINC's own development board.

This is nothing to do with Matt - he doesn't touch BOINC with a bargepole, if he can help it. Address any comments to David Anderson.
