"To be entered into the sweepstakes, you’ve got to be ... a resident of the United States."

Doesn't help me...

I've entered these types of contests before and not won anything, So even though I'm living in the US(I was born here too), I'll pass as It's usually something I'll never win.

But if you try enough times, you might be surprised.

So, which would crunch faster, this or an 8-Core Mac of the same clock speed?

If they were using the same code for the seti application then it would be to close to really matter. The difference in times on a mac vs everything else is the code base for the optimized app nothing more.

I would rather be disappointed and lose 100 times, Then finally win once.

Careful or we'll get into the old "glass half full / glass half empty" debate. Don't think I could stand that at this hour, so I'm off to catch some zzzzzz.

Back in the early days, maybe before what is now called "SETI Classic", US Robotics sponsored a sweepstakes giving away a 56K modem each day for 56 days. I entered every day... and finally won on the 55th day.

You can't win if you don't play.

This box might not be able to keep with the latest MAC Pros, but I'd like to go for a ride anyway.

Thank you!!! But I do understand what Joker meant, it is not good to have one's info in the open.

I will enter and if I win, it will go straight to Seti. I don't want to pay to much taxes should I win.

On closer inspection, I am surprised that it doesn't have a 1TB hard drive or 2 Raptors in Raid, and a Blu-ray drive might have been nice, and 4 gigs of memory would be great. But it has 2 Core 2 Exetremes, so I dont feel to bad about winning it.
