Please post your milestones. I want to open this thread, because some of you joined on 2/29/2000 and only get to let us know your achievements every four years. Richard this tread is dedicated with you in mind. :)

'Twas so long ago, but not so far away
that a busy young lad while off on his way
read about a new project, not so long undertaken
that searched through the stars
for signals that others just might have been makin'.

Your computer, it said, is just all that you need
to help search through the stars with plenty of speed
and help us to look for this particular behaviour
and in return we will give you
this most nifty screen saver.

A computer, the lad thought, I do not have one now
but I'll build one and then I can find out just how
these fellows that search though the stars and the skies
and can look for these signals
not seen by our eyes.

A fast one, he thought, that would be just the best.
And he went out and bought a new 233mmx.
Just the thing for researching those signals I'll bet.
'Cuz he knew at the time
'Twas the fastest thing yet!

He fiddled and fuddled and tinkered and cursed.
He poked and he prodded and threw things and worse.
And just as he almost gave up from the strife,
He heard the thing 'beep'
and it then came to life....

And he learned dos and windows and the things that were written,
and the passwords and keywords and the secrets laying hidden.
And finally when the effort had almost made him blind
he typed in 'Find me Seti'
wondering what it was it would find.

The hard drive it clicked and it clacked and it roared,
a program downloaded, the cpu usage soared...
A new 'puter crunching, away on a quest.
And the young lad just smiled...
"Let it run, that is best".

A few months from now, I'll see eight years a running
that Seti search program, so precise and so cunning.
Though the answers we sought then those eight years ago
are still enticing us now
to go where we must go....

And so there's the story of a young lad gone Seti.
Much older and wiser now, the lives touched of many.
The computers are faster, and he has written this song,
to say thanks to Seti, and to those who have stayed,
To smile and say bravo to who have been at it this long.

Top notch, fellow crunchers!!!!!

Wonderful poem Mark, thank you.
No Richard, that is not me. I originally joined Seti in 1999, May or June, then had a computer crash. Couldn't remember the original log in, so that is why the new date is 2/6/00. Some top crunshers are part of my group.
Upgraded to a dual core in January and hope to have 40,000 cedits today.
Pluto will always be a planet to me.

It been a great 8 years as part of the Seti crunchers. Got 600 units done in Seti Classic and converted to Boinc in September 2005 reluctantly. Upgraded in January of 2008 and the new system has already processed almost 17,000 cobblestones in five weeks. It took my old one 28 month to crunch not quite 25,000.
I am at 92.500 in the Seti rank, crunched a little more than 88% of my fellow members, a smidegon over 82% for the United States and at number 38 with regards to my sign up date.
Posting this more for myself, so a year from now, I can again see my milestones.
Please donate, I have noticed quite a drop and this is a great hobby. Come payday, I will be sending another check, hope you can too.
Pluto will always be a planet to me.
