I am posting this from my cellular phone while I am at work, so please excuse any problems with formatting. After communicating with both Fuzzy & Misfit over the last few days, I have learned that nothing should be taken at face value. I was advised by email some weeks ago not to trust certain mods. I was very careful what I said, but I have found that once I got to know people better that they are not bad people after all, I think some of you know who advised me not to trust Fuzzy, Misfit or certain others. I am not going to name him here, as he no longer posts on SETI as far as I know, Why can't we all be friends? Keith Sir Arthur C Clarke 1917-2008 |

No, not much can be taken as face value, some have their agendas and they want to turn black to white and white to black to fit that agenda. The truth works like garlic on vampires on some, who have tried to spread their lies and discredit some of us for a very long time. I think I have a pretty good idea of who "advised" you not to trust Misfit and me in particular. See your PM. As for being friends, well, this is a micro cosmos of the world, there are people who are as people are most in real life, and I'm happy I don't have some of them in my real life, where I have made lasting friendships with others. And as in real life we can't be friends with all. "I'm trying to maintain a shred of dignity in this world." - Me |

Keith, a lot of problems here (on the boards) would be greatly reduced if we could all act like we do with our real-world friends. But it is very easy to slip into some alter-ego (macho, know-it-all, braggart, etc.) when we know there will be no physical consequences. I try to treat people in a friendly way in my cyber-relations, but that can come to a quick end when I see someone being treated unfairly, and even more quickly when it is I who is being mistreated. To answer your question: we certainly can be friends, but where a history of mistreatment and lies can't be set aside, even for purposes of making this place more pleasant, we won't be. |

After communicating with both Fuzzy & Misfit over the last few days, I have learned that nothing should be taken at face value. That's what troublemakers do. They whisper their vitriolic instigations in the darkness hoping someone will bite and act in their stead. Bunch of phonies. Why can't we all be friends? But for the phonies trying to drive a giant wedge into the forums - nothing at all. me@rescam.org |

Thre is also another danger in using the net & that is ID Theft. It is now an international problem. I have numerous customers who have difficulty in giving me their names, addresses, & phone numbers for invoicing purposes. And yet when they call me to fix their problems, there they are, surfing the net with their personal details freely given. Some people will never learn & others defy all common sense. What happened to Fuzzy is not a pleasant thing to experience & I for one can understand her feelings with regards to the authorties. I am the eldest of 8 (6 sisters & 1 brother). During the summer of 1991, one of my sisters was being stalked every evening on her way home from work. This went on for just over 4 months - The police were aware but informed my family that they could not act until he was caught in the act. He was a known wife beater, molester & drunkard. I became aware of the problem on my return from Germany that October. I dealt with the problem (quite legally) I gave him 2 choices, relocate from the area or else. He took relocation. As for the police? Don't make me laugh. |

I know I might look like Mr Stupid but what does "h-d-y-g-b (epilogue)" actually mean? You all seem to know. Can someone tell me. |
